Fair one, we gave it a good go from the sounds, I think the package we offered (rumoured 5m upfront and 4m add ons) is more than fair for him.clarethomer wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 8:13 pmOberfami not happening

Like many I’m weirdly sort of happy Obafemi isnt happening. I do hope the German defender happens though.

If this McGrath whoever he is says VK earmarked the Swansea player as a priority signing can someone ask McGrath why VK left it so late in the window then

He was rumoured to be going to Everton earlier today, so has that move fallen through now?scouseclaret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 8:15 pmI really rate Brereton. Can’t see Bastards finishing above us, but I think he’s the sort of striker who would cause us a lot of problems when we play them. Was hoping he would move on this window.

Randomly, Oxford Utd have signed a player from Lazio, he was in the Lazio squad last night
That's gonna be a bit of a shock to his system

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Completely agree. Swansea have a lot of bottle in asking £12m for a striker in a struggling Championship side, with no other club else appearing interested in him especially when he's not scoring goals and they are cash strapped. If they go down he won't be worth anything like as much. I would have liked another striker but better for us to keep the cash ready for January window if needed.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Makes a nice change getting to the end of the window and not being arsed if we don’t make another signing.
Time yet but short a centre half and in an ideal world a striker, but the squad has loads of options to manage injuries and suspensions.
From where we found ourselves following relegation, with all of the departures, I’ve got to hand it to the club, they’ve done a pretty damn good job (ignoring the financial element).

Even if we sign no-one else (and assuming Lewis is in), this window has been so good, we could have a decent championship side, just from new signings alone. Even without loan signings included

I was just about to say that as much as I want a fast striker, I think a dominant cenre half is more important, especially taking into account the abundance of attacking talent we have. I hope Beyer is good.

That was a brilliant finale twitter announcement to end an amazing transfer window IMO
Dead and dying wood mainly gone. Old regime for which the Club owes so much gone
Good players sold as per their wishes (not OOC so need not have left) so that some
of the funds have gone to buy/loan 15 or is is 16 players. The rest hopefully to secure
us into the future.
The reseeding of the Turf has started; lets all hope the nurturing produces more of
the last 7 games. UTC

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Happy we’ve walked away from the Obafemi deal.
Good to have the cash in the bank for January and a couple of post World Cup deals.
Not forgetting the cost of living crisis, wait until the Taffs get their gas bill

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
You do just wonder if we might have a loan plan B…..
Either way - we have so many options it feels almost trivial at this point, particularly if the Turkish lad can play up top.

I see Maitland-Niles has signed for Saints, loan with option to buy
Guessing he got fed up with Arteta failing on his promise of game time from last season.

Brereton staying at Blackburn. Venkys take some pelters but that’s a season changing move for them.
‘Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz is staying at the club after bids from Fulham and Everton were rejected
Owners Venkys were resolute in the fee they wanted for the player and that was not met‘
