Tony you brought some of that on yourself this afternoon with your bizarre comments. I don’t condone abuse at all but you can’t give it out and run this place like a dictator and not expect some people to comment and get annoyed.
I think he commented on the fact that a thread about a new player elicited more comments on the video than on the player.

That is not giving out abuse. Saying you don't condone abuse and then calling someone who works hard to keep this place going- a dictator - is worth an apology in my opinion.

No one should have to put with any abuse but I think these video announcements clearly are welcomed so much by so many and it is clear the excitement and interest they bring.
Nobody ever said they weren't just one or two dicks jumped on my comment that it was all that seemed to matter and the abuse got going. Shame it's all people can be bothered posting about now.

The videos are good though aren’t they, a nice compliment to the written stuff.

No need for someone to call you a dictator but also no need for you to call people dicks who you believe took your comments the wrong way

You, like others, totally misread my post but I've had enough today to last me a lifetime. ,Now being called a dictator. I'm just sickened by it.
Apologies CT. Worded badly. What I mean is it feels like all freedom of speech or opinion is being removed because of people commenting about a video rather than your article.

Fair enough removing abusive posts and rightly so but to remove all evidence about a video isn’t right in my opinion when we have gained so much positive social PR from them.

There is room for all sides. The announcements you do are top class Tony, also the articles of seasons gone by are what make this site an amazing place, invoking memories of days gone by, good and bad, trips we took and I was there moments.

Social media is the new thing though and these new announcements and videos engage a different kind of audience for the club, hopefully attracting outside interest and fingers crossed some investment which I think is the main reason for it all. Plus they are fun.

The two should go hand in hand. Your work is appreciated Tony and I think is just expected now. Sign on, look for new article on a signing, read up, smile, log off. These announcement videos are new, fresh, different, they engage the fan base in a different way than ever before and will probably be more a novelty and forgotten about in a year or two, but this summer they have been fun and after several years of being starved of decent signings they have helped in re energising the fan base

It's left a bad taste for some and these introduction videos are a new initiative that will attract attention for some time until further new ideas are needed.

Ironically you brought more attention to them and I hope you didn't feel mention of them was detracting from your report.

I don't think you need me to tell you how much they are appreciated as well

It's not a surprise to be honest, most people in Germany seem to be able to speak perfect English.

At least his song is sorted out.

To the tune of "Let's all have a disco" The referee's a w**k*r

Beyer is a Baker,
oh Beyer is a Baker,
na, nah, na oohh.
na, nah, na oohh.

He seems so keen to be here and there is an option to buy. You'd imagine if things go well, he'll want to stay. He seems very well-balanced.

And still people go on about it. I don't have a problem with the announcements myself, but nor do I have to put in the equivalent of at least a full weeks work, FOR NO PAY, running this site nor do I get the abuse Tony gets for any comment he makes on any subject.

One thing I have noticed more and more since this site opened is the willingness of so many people to get decidedly nasty and personal in their insults and their determination that their way of thinking is THE only way of thinking, anyone who disagrees is liable to instant attack from the safety of their computer, notebook or phone. I don't agree with many things Tony believes but I would fight to preserve his right to say it without fear of persecution or reprisal. Perhaps others (not necessarily the people whose quotes are highlighted above) should remember that he has his own rights!

Its pretty impressive to beat the massive over reactions already on this thread but you've managed it

....back to the subject.

Last season was the breakthrough season for Beyer at Mönchengladbach, he had two longer spells playing for the team, but missed a couple months due to an injury before Christmas.

Mönchengladbach appeared to play three at the back with Beyer generally occupying the central position of the three, so not sure how comfortable he'll be in a back four. One positive seemed to be that their results were worse when he wasn't in the team and out of the final eleven games he started nine, was suspended for one and injured for one. The results in those eight games were four wins, four draws and just one defeat.

Here's hoping he's a big asset for us this season.

All a bit silly this, isn’t it?
Couldn't agree with you more

Let's all forget about it and move on
CT deserves a break

And there's more important things to talk about
Teams announced in half an hour

Ha Ha

Yes, Nine games, of which four were wins and four draws.

Could his arrival lead to a change in formation or could he slot in on the right hand side on occasions instead of Roberts?

In certain games we have to look at the opposition and what their threats are, to allow Maatsen to bomb on without much of a thought as to what Jed Wallace would do with acres of space was mental. Yes believe in what we can do as a team but we aren't good enough not to plan for the oppositions danger men.
