Nice kit that.
Here's a thought:
would you prefer us to play in our current home kit or their away kit? (badges etc. changed to ours of course

)

Bit puzzled by the whole Helmand ‘connection’ tbh
Got no qualms about folk having a soft spot for a team because their mates are from there or whatever
…. But having a load of grown men holding a ‘brothers in arms’ banner outside the turf because some bloke from Burnley went and lived in a random town in Holland is just a bit bizarre to me

Agree Coolclaret. Some of the iconography looks a bit iffy/ borderline sinister to me but to be fair the shirt doesn't have that look about it.

I was the same but we probably have more in common than we do with Vitry-sue-Seine!!

I'm intrigued by your username.
If you are referring to Elton, and given his reputation and name calling from the Longside,
did he have one?

A little like those that put Glasgow Rangers badges on Burnley flags
Each to their own, if it improves our level of support then I’ve no issue and welcome it.

Surely supporters from clubs in different countries who actually get on has to be better then fighting and throwing plastic chairs at each other?

It all started from a Burnley lad called Darran Wooller.
He was my mates uncle. He moved over in the 80s and became a season ticket holder for Helmond. He used to arrange trips starting back in the 90s when he used to come back to Burnley with a few Dutch lads and the tradition has been kept.
Darran sadly died of cancer back in 2014

Why bother posting that other than to rub people up the wrong way. Nothing to do with me but 2 groups of lads from 2 different countries forming a bond and having a good time. Whats the problem?

It does refer to Elton of soccernight fame. The Longside used to sing about his wife in none too flattering terms!

I saw 3 or 4 people wearing that Helmond away shirt in town on Tuesday before the match.

There was a stag do from Burnley in Helmond over the weekend. A number of the lads picked up shirts from the club shop.

Our 5 a-side kit was the same but with blue shorts, that was back in 1982.

Because this (see attached photo)
Certainly doesn’t represent me nor I’d say the overwhelming vast majority of Burnley fans

Happy that they are not fighting each other and any cross border relationships that help the world can only be good. Sort of like Kofi Annan, Mo Mowlam, Nelson Mandela.....
Though I am sceptical, so, what are they "in arms" about?
