Potential Traffic Problems Tonight, (Stoke)

Post by BigRedrose » Wed Oct 05, 2022 11:30 am

For those who exit/access the M65 at junction 9, ( Hapton turn off), The A646, Rossendale Rd, has a 3 way traffic contol outside the Texaco petrol station causing long tail backs at busy periods.

If you are coming through Colne tonight for the game the main road is shut after the Asda roundabout, could get big delays with rush hour traffic.

Its likely to be busier than usual with no trains running either.

Thanks for the tip off, that’s my normal route in. Will take a different route tonight!

Those roadworks have gone. They are now doing the same thing up the length of Brunshaw road from the junction of Brunshaw ave to The Ridge.

Lights and single lane traffic on Brunshaw Road after Turf heading towards Pike Hill. They were still digging this morning so can not imagine them finishing it before KO.

Thanks for the heads up - that's my normal route so I'll go through Rawtenstall and via the A682 instead.

For those travelling from the coast, Part of the M55 will be closed from 8pm tonight. So travel home will be affected.

Seems like every night game the trip home is on one or two lanes of the M55/M6 being closed

Anyone returning to Fylde Coast coming off at the 'Tickled Trout' junction to avoid M55 closure, bear in mind that the Preston home game kicks off 15 minutes after ours. Traffic still likely to be busy in Deepdale area.
