No chance the managers are consulted. He just stuck a minute on for a quick shower and getaway.

Apparently there are 2 circumstances when discretion can be used,one is when a team is getting hammered,however in a one of cup game I get that,however when goal difference can be crucial at the season end the full time should be played OMHO.
