2 points clear of second
5 points clear of third
9 points clear of seventh

Not too shabby

It isn’t, but a long long way to go yet. Yep, every team in the division would swap places with us, but you get nowt for being top first week in November.

Sheff Utd have already won it, second place must be ours.

Reading knew that too, and came with a game plan that nearly worked. Only took a shite ref not to give them a stonewall pen at a pivotal point of the game. We need to get used to this because we are kings of the castle. But we are starting to deal with it, some great stuff today from our lads!

We seem to be slowly pulling away from the chasers by hard graft
It will be interesting to see the table in Jan 2023

That same shite ref didn’t give us a nailed on pen in the first half!!

Gave away 10-12 points earlier in the season by drawing games we should have won and we are STILL looking likely to pull away.

Great stuff.

Agree with that. Just that theirs was later in the game and may have been decisive. We rode it out though and we got the points.

Nice to be building a slight gap to the chasers, but a note of caution we aren't even at the halfway stage yet.

What is encouraging is our form since the Blackpool game has been tremendous 29 points from a possible 39, now if we continue in anything like that vein good luck to the rest of the division in catching us.

3 games until the WC break come through those fixtures still top of the league and we can maybe start contemplating a swift return to the top flight.

After Rotherham we’ve got a tough 3 games where we play 3 of the top 6, two of them away and one of them a derby. A big win against Rotherham should keep the cushion heading into those 3.

I want us to be 4 points clear before we play ‘that lot’ so that no matter what happens during the game, we can all sing, ‘Burnley, Burnley top of the league’.

Long long way to go but we are now finding ways to win and getting our late share of goals and players effecting the game from the bench.

I know what you mean but equally if he’d given ours they would have had to come at us and we could have made it more comfortable.

Yep, think Rotherham is a big game - only two to go then before the break, both very tricky fixtures as you say. Need to try & keep this winning home form up.

Imagine how good we'd be now if we hadn't lost that pre-season kickabout against Newcastle.

Be careful Jen, you’re already being lined up as a scapegoat, what with your early reluctance to join the party. Don’t push your luck.

5 points from the next 3 will be a good return going into the break.

The losing 12 points was an overall positive as we're still pulling away. As opposed to the 'but' and 'however' that crops up. A post starts off quite positive, but overall it isn't.

We've done so well so far - well above most people's expectations - and we should get even better as we continue to gel. But you're absolutely correct to suggest that we shouldn't get carried away with it still being early days.

Yes that was an important victory while missing our 2 regular centre-mids.

Confidence from the players is growing each game and you cannot put a value on that
