Start with BPF and bring Denis Franchi on 2nd half.
Muric needs a rest after all that bending down in the nets on Saturday getting the ball and having to keep wondering where his defence is.

.......................BPF
Roberts....McNally.....Taylor.....Egan Riley
.............Brownhill.....Bastien
Tucker.............................Costelloe
.................Halil
................Barnes

A spine of first team players who are not going to be tired from the recent run of games. Give some youngsters a chance.
I know Bastien and Roberts played on Saturday but they haven't played as much as some others.

Some of Benson, Zaroury, Tella and JBG on the bench to come on if needed late on.

Not sure there's any point playing Lowton or Kev Long, they aren't going to feature this season. Something along the lines of

Muric
Roberts. Egan Riley. McNally. Taylor.

JBG. Cullen Bastien.

Costelloe. Barnes. Dervisoglu
Kevin Long may feature this season if we have any injuries or suspensions. Perhaps he doesn’t fit in with Vincent’s total football plans at present? Or, If we get more doings like Saturday and teams start to suss us out at the back we may see him sooner than you think.

Makes zero sense for the manager to complain about tiredness and then go and play the entire first team in the next game.

Its not the first team. I picked players that either Came off the bench or were suspended.

I assume your comment wasn't aimed at me but I must admit I forgot about CJER and so would play him instead of Lowton. I picked the other 2 and if you don't play Long who do you play alongside McNally if resting the first 11.
No, the comment wasn't aimed at anyone in particular.
We may as well forget Long and Lowton as I really can't see how they will get game time.
Egan-Riley and McNally in the middle of defence, admittedly we'd need to use Vitinho or Roberts.

BPF
Lowton - Long - McNally - Taylor
Egan-Riley - Bastien
Costelloe - Dodgson or Tucker
Barnes - Dervisoglu

Plus a smattering of U21s on the bench such as Tucker or Dodgson, Lewis and Helm since it's 9 subs on the bench. Don't risk any key players or injury prone ones (such as JBG).

Opportunity to see how Taylor can operate in this system in his preferred position and whether McNally can play Beyer's role whilst providing a bit more of a physical/aerial presence.

Yeah should give us an indication. With them hinting the U21s may include players out on loan at non-league teams I'm hoping that's a sign quite a few will be involved tonight.

If we win tonight the next round is just before Christmas, the quarter finals early in the New Year, and the Semi-Finals done and dusted before the end of January.

Shall we just concentrate on the League? :D

U21s that may have been involved with the Crawley game but are in Peterborough today so will definitely not be taking part:
Ne-Jai Tucker, Mark Helm, Michael Mellon

U21s that you would expect to be involved at Peterborough but aren't so could possibly be part of tonight's squad*:
Denis Franchi, Owen Dodgson, Marcel Lewis, Seb Thompson, Joe Bauress, Frankie Deane, Dara Costelloe

*Obviously could be injury related exclusions

Not surprising that there will be a low crowd.
Lots of home games in a short space of time.

People don’t have much interest in cup competitions until the later rounds.

True. I was talking in general football terms in that respect.
Unless you are a lower league club playing one of the big boys or manage to get a local team there really is little interest.

I’m not sure Burnley have put more than 50% effort into the majority of cup games in the last 10 years.

Poor do that. Cheap tickets and top of the league scoring plenty of goals. Suppose the lack of cash turnstiles these days doesn't exactly tempt people to make a last minute decision either.

Clubs don’t tend to take it seriously at this stage.
We see clubs from all levels making huge changes to their regular line ups for League Cup games.

You can’t blame them for it, little money to be made in general in cup competitions until the later rounds. No point in pretending otherwise.

Seeing a few suggestions of Twine, Churlinov and Westwood. Not sure any of these players would be chucked straight into a start in a competitive fixture off the back of injuries if they even have recovered.

I can't see the point in playing Muric (as some have suggested) with a completely different back four.

I've lost count of the amount of posts on twitter saying people have tried to buy tickets but can't - I mean, I've lost count. It should be easy but seemingly there is an issue. I'd be surprised if there are more than 4k on tonight

U21 Dervisoglu

I don't want to any of the first team starters remotely close to this fixture

Seems a lot of people don’t want us to take the cup seriously. Would this be fair? Just seems a bit odd considering it was a criticism often levelled at Dyche, granted maybe not by the same people.

Think it’s more recognising the unprecedented schedule we’ve had, the fatigue we showed on Saturday, the team we are facing and the fact we’ve got a pretty big game on Sunday - plus we’ve got the squad.

Sorry, to clarify I mean most people are posting their lineups which suggest they aren’t taking the competition seriously. I didn’t mean people not attending.

Appreciate the context. But Vegas’ team for example would surely take a beating. So it seems some are happy to lose the game to keep fresh legs for a league game. Not a criticism, just odd as I mentioned due to the criticism levelled at Dyche for playing weakened teams in the cups.
