Infantino

Post by Belgianclaret » Sat Nov 19, 2022 1:19 pm

Completely deluded, just like the entire organization he's running...

No Qatar WC for me, not even on tv - frankly don't care who wins it

Just get it over and done with so we can enjoy our team again

Infantino has been lording it up in Qatar now for quite a few years, he has even taken his family to live there.

Thats why he will have nothing said against that country.
Hence his bizarre speech condemning western countries.

Plus all the Qatari cash he'll no doubt have in his bank account, as for Bryan Swanson sat next to him the ex sky news reporter, no wonder he was backing the Infant up......he works for him and probably gets paid a shedload !....plus perks.

Infantino says "Today I feel like a migrant worker".
Meanwhile it's estimated 2000 Nepalese workers died and 200 committed suicide.

It's hardly ever talent that takes a person to the absolute tippy top; it's shamelessness that gets you there, and a willingness to lick the right arseholes and say convenient words at convenient times. I have more respect for a homeless man offering handjobs for a sandwich than I do for those people so devoid of dignity and moral compass that were it possible their own vocal cords would feel abased being used by the brain for such unedifying business.

I think you're all being a bit harsh on Infantino. I'm sure as a multi millionaire he can relate to those migrant workers slaving away in the red hot sun for a pittance.

Not to single out Swanson himself, but these kinds of eyebrow-raising contradictions are seen everywhere in those grubby, political, corrupt corners of life because some people convince themselves of the belief that it is more productive to work from within an organisation or system and shape the culture in line with your own will than it is to criticise from outside, but what actually happens, more often than not, is those people see a pile of cash and then reason their way to that belief. If you could draw a line from one point to the other, it would look something like this...

Their 'belief' (what they convince themselves of):

I can be a force for good--------------------work from within and effect change (for money)

The actual process:

Get offered money--------------------invent a belief that one's motives are pure

FIFA (when its administrators aren't taking back handers), like the IOC, projects the idea that it can have a positive influence in the world, to soften and bend other nations to the worldview of the western democratic market-capitalist countries who make up its most politically powerful members, but as we've seen with Infantino's fluffing of Putin during the 2018 World Cup, and now...this *waves hand open palmed across body*, we've actually seen a softening, a bending of FIFA, not of Qatar. Every person with a healthy degree of cynicism in their mind knows that the rhetoric is bull$hit. To quote Theodore Roosvelt's foreign policy doctrine, "speak softly and carry a big stick." Soft power has a place, yes, but the stick is more important. Has China improved its human rights record since the Olympics? Has Russia since it hosted the Winter Olympics and World Cup? No, because tyrannies like those only respond to force.

Erm, really sorry to pollute this thread, truly, everyone else please just ignore this post, but I've just noticed that I've been called out unprovoked by Jakubclaret on another now-locked thread on which I have not made one single solitary post (the benefits thread), and I feel I have a right to respond to that. (I didn't report the post, the thread was locked before I even read it). For the record, no, I'm not Imploding Turtle or anyone else for that matter, and no, I haven't been banned. I'd hazard a guess that the reason a lot of people have disappeared from here, or at least post much less frequently than in the early days of this site, is because people are fed up with the sort of low-intelligence that spats a very small number of people drag almost every thread down to.

Sorry to bring that up on this thread, I only do so because he's posted on this thread and might see it, and I'm just a bit tired of reading that kind of petty rubbish on this forum. I like to think we can save the moderators a lot of grief with a degree of self-moderation on this forum, and this post is nothing more than an attempt to do that: a request that that poster practice his behaviour elsewhere.

Anyway, as you were...

He’s as bent as the proverbial nine Bob note. (To clarify, I meant corrupt - couldn’t give a shiny one who he sleeps with)

Blatter, Platini, Warner, and now Infantino… all bought men.

The UK population should show their objection to this farce of a World Cup by informing BBC/ITV/Sky that they will switch off and not watch televised games. Can we with-hold our TV license fees as an objection? Think that may have an effect on future advertising revenues. I for one have no interest in any coverage.

Infantinos' outburst merely condones Qatari atrocious medieval practices.

Let’s be honest 99% of people would do the exact same as this bloke if offered the money.

Perfect example being Gary Neville, he’s been very vocal about the issues out in Qatar but look at him going out there and earning hundreds of thousands.

On the Gary Neville example, won’t he be tied to Sky under contract and they sent him out there. I don’t know if that’s correct of course but thought I’d mention it. As for Infantino he wants sacking.

Surely it would have been beneficial if he simply donated the £10k to a good cause, especially with the cost of living crisis.

He would have simultaneously made the same point and potentially enhanced the quality of life for others.

Fifa has increased its World Cup revenue by more than $1bn (£840m) after taking the tournament to Qatar, the governing body has revealed.

Sponsorship has been boosted by a series of lucrative deals with Qatari companies, including the announcement in March of the state-owned oil and gas company QatarEnergy as tournament partner.

Hence the questioning of the corrupt organisation which is FIFA - What ‘agreements’ were made in exchange for all this money and where has all that money gone/going?

With respect to the subject in question & other issues should be addressed elsewhere. You either run with the hare or hunt with the hounds, middle ground simply doesn't exist we've chosen to go in a certain direction & are now experiencing things we aren't happy with, avoidable I think so.

Not a good attempt at justifying the bizarre decision to hold the tournament in Qatar. I have spoken to a good number of football fans and the majority are not interested in the tournament.

Many are actually fed up of politicised football now.

I was surprised that nobody on here mentioned this other story about Infantino

https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/sport ... 022-11-15/

The shocking thing for me is that I can only assume that he still has a relationship with Russians from the last world cup because the only people to benefit from a ceasefire in Ukraine are the Russian government.

I don't understand how he can ask everyone to focus on the football and then make so many political statements.

I'm avoiding everything to do with this worldcup but it just keeps cropping up on the news for all the wrong reasons before a ball has even been kicked.

It's going to be hard not to watch with players like Tripps, Roberts and Zaroury taking part but it's a no from me. Taking the knee. Kick it out. Rainbow laces. So much meaningless bullshit.

I was surprised that nobody on here mentioned this other story about Infantino

The shocking thing for me is that I can only assume that he still has a relationship with Russians from the last world cup because the only people to benefit from a ceasefire in Ukraine are the Russian government.
And he's been awarded the Order of Friendship:
