Twine & Churlinov
Why haven't they played more minutes?
I thought they would be doing everything to get them playing time. It's hard to find anything to whinge about at the minute, but this is my only gripe atm.
I'm sure there's a decent plan in place...

Re: Twine & Churlinov
Well, for a start they both have had significant injuries this season -
I’m sure they will have a role to play from now until the end of the season.

Re: Twine & Churlinov
Would have been great to bring Twine on at the end for that free kick on Tuesday night. Perfect position as well.

Re: Twine & Churlinov
Too many good players - hard to see past those that are starting at the moment though.
Will get their chance and you would hope that given our last game was only 2 days ago, these games will see us using our squad a bit more if recovery time is too short for some players.
Given the world cup break we have just had, we have had fresh players, however games will come fast and I expect we will see more of these 2 as a result.

Not dropping anyone, just need minutes at the end of games. Tricky thoughVegas Claret wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 3:29 pmwho exactly do you drop for the pair of them ? Our squad is very strong and it's brilliant !

I think they’ll get a fair chunk of time on the pitch in the next 3 games.

Re: Twine & Churlinov
I think if we get to a point where we are a 2-3 up and in control against someone with 30 mins to go they will get time, tricky though as you suggest. I figured the one who would be nailed on to get game time was Bastien but so far when he has played he hasn't been great (maybe that's down to lack of minutes also though)burnley007 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 3:36 pmNot dropping anyone, just need minutes at the end of games. Re: Twine & Churlinov
You can't give players minutes if they aren't fit enough to start a game and the match doesn't suit them coming on as a sub.

Re: Twine & Churlinov
I think the OP has a point and based on the lack of game time these players have seen this season I wouldn't be surprised if VK looks to loan them out and try to offload in the summer
Re: Twine & Churlinov
Some take longer to bed in. Throw into the mix; how well we have been doing, the form of others and the injuries that they have both experienced, you’ll be somewhere near as to why we’ve not seen much of either, so far (you can add McNally and Egan-Reilly to the list, too).
I think it’s been pretty remarkable just how well the majority have hit the ground running - there were bound to be a few that had to bide their time.
I do think we will start to see both getting more minutes in the coming months - let’s just give them time and trust in Kompany to do the right thing for them and the team.

We could pay off their wages and let them go on a free transfer, saving some space on the bench.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 3:48 pmI think the OP has a point and based on the lack of game time these players have seen this season I wouldn't be surprised if VK looks to loan them out and try to offload in the summer

Re: Twine & Churlinov
They'll get their chance over the next few months no doubt, and as already mentioned above both are returning from long term injuries.
I certainly wouldn't have thrown either on against Birmingham given how the rash tackles were flying in.
Both got a few minutes towards the end of the Boro game, and Churlinov got nearly 30 mins at OT, while Twine got on for the last 10.
No point rushing players back when we don't need to, and it's a rare luxury we should be pleased about.

Re: Twine & Churlinov
Don't worry. The Boss has got it all sorted. Both Scott and Darko, injuries permitting, will be well involved.
Re: Twine & Churlinov
Churlinov looks another really exciting player to me, shame he missed that chance at WBA then got injured. Zaroury has took that spot and nailed it in his absence.
Re: Twine & Churlinov
I really don't understand your point. They were both out for a long period of time, Churlinov even missed the pre-season with us. At the moment, they're down the pecking order because Benson, Tella and Zaroury are having a brilliant season. They will get their chances soon.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 3:48 pmI think the OP has a point and based on the lack of game time these players have seen this season I wouldn't be surprised if VK looks to loan them out and try to offload in the summer

He certainly didn't catch me, I was merely carrying it on, expecting somebody to take it seriously.

Just unfortunately the two players in there position are arguably our best players this season.

Churlinov. Oh Dear. Looks so lost.
Churlinoff please
Churlinoff please
Re: Twine & Churlinov
It doesn’t look like he wants it or he isn’t fit enough or good enough. Maybe what he needs 45 minutes in a competitive match but I’d take him off as he looks tired.

I don't think he's good enough. Should gave won the game for us at West Brom (twice) and I don't think it's any accident he's been rested since.

Re: Twine & Churlinov
Thought he made intelligent runs, with excellent movement. Carried the ball well and offered a threat, whilst looking a little rusty (caught offside a few times). If you can’t see a player with bags of potential here, we might as well give up. He’s played a few minutes vs everyone else who have played over half a season…and he’s had a big injury. I mean, come on….

Willing to give him time as there is something there. The only issue he has is there is at least two better players in his position. His game time will be lowjdrobbo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 9:07 pmThought he made intelligent runs, with excellent movement. Re: Twine & Churlinov
Needs to be given time due to how long he’s had out. As pointed out above there were glimpses of what we can expect. You then need to consider the impact Anas had when he came in. We know he’s brilliant but he offered little because like first half we struggled to get the ball out to the wide man in the left with any quality.

Re: Twine & Churlinov
The right back/right side centre back looked after Churlinov and Zaroury. Sometimes you have to credit the defender. Anass got very little change out of him too. Can be no judgments made in a game where the opposition were trying to stifle us by being aggressive and in our face, it just didn’t suit our ball players really.
Benny had their left hand side struggling though.

Clarke (Arsenal loanee) had a very good game, defensively.jedi_master wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 10:09 pmThe right back/right side centre back looked after Churlinov and Zaroury. Noted that Zaroury did little better than Churlinov.
