Today's football
Today's football
Mounting pressure on Rovers. Cardiff at home. Whilst I suspect they'll get back to winning ways the crowd will get impatient if they don't start well. Such is this season's Championship Rovers have lost more games (12) than 20th placed Cardiff (11).
Re: Today's football
Should win easily today.
I think today starts the run of playing 4 of the bottom 5 in their next 5 games.
So there's a good chance of them picking up a good few wins in the next month or so.

Hi MACCA,
Happy New Year!
Yes, on paper you'd think they should win it without too many problems. But it's a crazy division this time around plus third game in seven days.
Here's hoping.

How depressing must it be when you wake up in the morning and remember you’re a Blackburn Rovers supporter.

Re: Today's football
I don't think they are good enough to expect to win any game.
Appreciate league position says otherwise.
I'll go Cardiff win.

Their pitch looks shocking.
Re: Today's football
Where is everyone? They should just sell the Darwen End to Aldi or something.

"Fair to say the early kick-off, the date and live TV coverage are leading to a less than lively atmosphere at Ewood Park so far."

Shame they can't drop out of the top 6 today.
Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

Our pitch isn’t in a great state, but Ewood looks far worse.
Less than ideal for a side that likes to keep the ball.

Real throwback to the January pitches of yore is Deadwood.
Re: Today's football
Has JDT changed the way they play? Not trying to play out from the back. Lumping it forward at every opportunity.
Re: Today's football
Two really shocking teams here.
A game where quality football goes to die.

The pitch is like a cabbage patch. Tinpot. That will only help them when we go to play them.

Cardiff are having their chances.

Rovers booed off. Third in the league. Nothing like getting behind your team.

Good god that was an appalling forty-five minutes of "football".

Re: Today's football
For all your **** taking, Bastards could closer the gap to just 11 points today.
Re: Today's football
Disagree with that, our pitch is in really good condition IMHO.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 12:18 pmOur pitch isn’t in a great state, but Ewood looks far worse.

Re: Today's football
I get it - NYD early kick off, on TV, it’s cold - but the sheer lack of support for a team who are third in the league, very much punching above their weight, is something else. Can only imagine what it’d be like if they were in a relegation scrap.

Re: Today's football
Considering the conditions against Boro and the volume of water it had absorbed it was in good condition. A bit slower that usual but understandable and years ago it would have been called off whereas these days it's no problem.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 1:04 pmNo, it’s poor. It was awful vs Boro I thought.
I’m sure there have been reports that it needs relaying and that it’s overdue.

1-0 Rovers. Scabby goal.
Cardiff are poor tho. Very little quality. Rovers are in serious trouble if they don’t go on to win this.

Damn 1-0.
Looks like game over already with this lack of quality.

Judging by the state of this Cardiff side Rovers will go on to win this now.

Re: Today's football
Boro was fine, bit of surface water against Birmingham but again played fine. I’ve just watched the highlights to check. Not sure there is much wrong with the pitch, especially compared to Ewood..

Re: Today's football
Cardiff plummeting towards the drop zone, no wins in eight if this stays the same or worse. If the three sides below them all win then they are in it.
We play them last game of the season.

Re: Today's football
Why would any tv network want to broadcast this bs. Shockingly bad teams
Re: Today's football
Not sure what expected goals has to do with anything, however accirding to sky stats Blackburn have scores 30 goals this season but their expected is only 20, presume the other 10 are the OG and massive deflections thst have gone in their favour
Re: Today's football
Cardiff are absolutely dogshite. I think they’ll go down this year.

I think almost any other side in this division would have beaten Blackburn today - but Cardiff are just THAT bad.

Yeah, Blackburn look to be in a false position, but I’ve been thinking that for months and they are still up there.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 1:40 pmI think almost any other side in this division would have beaten Blackburn today - but Cardiff are just THAT bad.

2 very poor teams. Cardiff deserve a special mention for their rubbishness.
