Re: Vialli
Can’t believe he was 58, I remember watching him as a kid, made me realise how long ago that was. What a player!
Re: Vialli
I've just seen it mentioned, with the title: "Gianluca Vialli Dead"
Always seems a bit crass to have that wording as the headline of a newspaper.

Re: Vialli
RIP, saw him for the first time during the Euro's (don't remember where), where he formed a formidable striking force with Mancini.
Just reminds you of the relativity of life and the reason not to get nervous about small things and little setbacks.

James Richardson, Football Italia. Super Sunday with a swaggering Sampdoria. Vialli and Mancini scoring for fun with the best football kits ever. Happy Memories.

Re: Vialli
Very sad.
That team Chelsea had in the mid-late 90’s with Vialli, Gullit, Zola, Di Matteo, Lebouef, Petrescu etc felt like such a watershed moment for the Premier League. They were a team ahead of their time in the manner they melded European quality with English grit and they had success in domestic cups/UEFA Cup etc (as it was). Great to watch those players on Match of the Day and Sky at the time.
He was a brilliant finisher and always spoke in a very measured manner. RIP to a bit of a footballing icon of mine when I was growing up.

Horrible news. When I saw he had pancreatic cancer a few years ago, I feared the worst. One of the worst you can get.

I didn't realize he still lived in London - even though his family in Italy is wealthy. He passed at the Royal Marsden. He had married a Brit and had two kids

Re: Vialli
Obviously can only comment on his football abilities which were exceptional, but from what I saw in the media and the plaudits today, you knew he was a great human being too. RIP
