Benny is the gift that keeps on giving. If I didn't know better, I would think he's trolling, but he's not. He really means this stuff. I only hope his poor brain cell doesn't pack up because this is pure entertainment.

Re: Fighting with your brother
Yep well your your say so doesnt make what Harry wrote an admission to killing civillians but seems like you've finally realised that statement of yours was hyperbolic rubbish which you've now drawn back from.
I remember the days way back in 2022 when you were fighting the corner of Paddy Mayne and his men when they mercilessly attacked and killed a bar full of enemy soldiers who were putting up no resistance.
Now it sounds like you want Harry hung, drawn and quartered for what he did fighting against the Taliban. You aren't half full of sh*t

He killed 25 threats to our country yet people are crying because he wrote a book.

Reading through some of the posts on here, it's like they have thrown their lot in with the Taliban. Mind you, given to some of their views on women and equality, this probably happened a long time ago.

It’d be a right laugh if the tallies hunted down Harold and taught him a lesson. They are an Islamic fundamentalist group which enables terrorism and has links with al-Qaeda, so I would say they are a threat to our country.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 7:11 pmThe Taliban were a threat to our country?
A threat to our troops who'd invaded perhaps, but not to the British isles, surely?!

For comedic value Harry saying he landed in the dog's bowl has got to be just behind Andy saying " on that night 15 years ago I remember being in Pizza Express having a 9 inch margarita"
Re: Fighting with your brother
Wasn't that the Mujhadideen who gought the Russians, and it was then and is now their country. There are reports of fighting between the Taliban, Islamic State and traditional Mujahadeen over how the country should be run. Afghanistan is a grave yard for all invaders . Harry shouldn't have sensationalised his involvement with numbers, his comments re the politics of war was enough, but that doesn't sell books.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 7:31 pmWe were happy for them to be there when they were fighting the Russians.

Re: Fighting with your brother
Harry has sold his soul to the US media and is being led by the nose by them. He has been badly advised and his attempts to withdraw some of the details in the book have failed miserably. He is now forced to defend them and is digging a bigger and bigger hole.
The trivia that he has blurted out during his Oprah (and the latest) interviews are damaging all round and the war details have now endangered him, his wife and his children.
The schoolboy tales of penile frostbite, brotherly scraps, baldness and his wife’s precious behaviour have been included by the publishers to sell the book and to make money. These have made him look foolish, have lost him a lot of respect and in my opinion have shut the door on any way back.
So that’s your idea of a quiet life is it Harry ??

I'm impressed but also slightly perturbed about the amount of thought some people are putting into this.

I wouldn't be surprised if a fatwa was put out against him.1882Clarets1882 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:31 pmGetting shot in the foot may be the least of his worries now Benny. The statement put out by the Taliban suggests he could well become a marked man. He's playing with fire for the lure of the dollar.
They took 30 or so years but eventually got Salman Rushdie.

Re: Fighting with your brother
Listen fool, Harold never said he killed civilians and I haven’t said he has either. If you go back and read what I posted and not what you hoped I’d posted, you would see that I said the Taliban were dressed the same as civilians. This doesn’t mean they were civilians it means they MIGHT have been, and now he’s admitted to the 25 killings, there is no reason not to examine them.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 6:37 pmYep well your your say so doesnt make what Harry wrote an admission to killing civillians but seems like you've finally realised that statement of yours was hyperbolic rubbish which you've now drawn back from.

As for Paddy Mayne, you obviously haven’t realised that the Second World War was fought in a very different way to the litigation aware wars of today, and the Rules of Engagement have changed somewhat over the last 80+ years. Also, deserters who were shot in the First World War have all since been pardoned because social values have changed. These days, with the quantum leap in sensors, optics, NVGs, thermal imaging, smart weapons since the late 30s there is much less excuse to kill civilians but accidents, and murders, do still happen. However, if you keep your mouth shut and your head down, there may well be less of an excuse for the authorities to go looking. That is all.

Re: Fighting with your brother
You said he killed 25 people who were dressed as civilians but you cannot know this for sure. Im very sure the British forces know the details of who he killed and it what circumstances and Im sure they know there is absolutely no reason to go back and re-examine those killings. Your real reason for wanting them re-examined is because you don't like the bloke and you don't like what he's written in his book but that is not a legitimate reason for it to be investigated.BennyD wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 6:02 pmListen fool, Harold never said he killed civilians and I haven’t said he has either. The armed forces will have pretty good records of lots of soldiers who killed people in the was against the Taliban so are you saying you want them to re-examine every killing they know of which was made by a British Soldier? If you don't then it proves you want them to treat Harry different because you don't like what he has written and don't think he should have wrote it
