Done some good tunes have CCR.
Re: Fortunate one finally
It was a long and bitter fight between him and his record company to the point where he was once sued by Saul Zaentz for plagiarising his own music. Apparently the melody of Old Man Down the Road was too much like Run Through the Jungle. Thrown out of court needless to say.

I imagine he'll have a fair whack of royalties coming back for 'Rocking All Over the World'.
Well deserved.

Oddly I’ve been listening to a lot of CCR recently. First band I saw live. For anyone who hasn’t heard it try Fogertys album Wrote a Song for Everyone. Reworking of old Creedence songs with him and other artists. There’s a fabulous version of Fortunate Son on there with Fogerty and the Foo Fighters, possibly better than the original. A really good album all round.

CCR are a fantastic band and very much underrated in my book. Glad he’s won the rights back.
Re: Fortunate one finally
Shame he fell out with Doug Clifford and Stu Cook. But like most bands they tend to fall out at some time or other.

I can’t really say a favourite. Too many. Lodi comes to mind along with ‘Rain’ but love the album track Ramble Tamble from Cosmo’s Factory, almost hypnotic but still hard rockin.
Re: Fortunate one finally
Zanz can’t dance but he’ll steal your money … from Centerfield. Great news John Fogerty
Re: Fortunate one finally
That’s a great album. Unfortunately Fogerty’s output went seriously downhill after CCR split up, but there are some good tracks on Centrefield, Blue Moon Swamp and Revival.houseboy wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 10:26 amOddly I’ve been listening to a lot of CCR recently. I saw him at the Palace in Manchester a few years ago just after Revival was released. He had only just started using the old CCR material again after years of refusing to do so. Brilliant night.

Brilliant guitar solo on that track. Try Pagan Baby, the first track on Pendulum, another great guitar solo.
