Re: January transfer window rumours.
He did say we still see him as priority . But I just cant see us going in at that money. He reckons we are playing transfer games , which I believe maybe just means we are just proving to the player himself that we are serious about him wether it be now with a reduced fee by Coventry or in the summer when we may well be in the premier league, fingers crossed.
THis may well encourage him to wait for us in the summer rather than risk joining a prem team who ultimately gets relegated

Apologies if I’ve missed this earlier but new to me. The article I read has him as a FB whilst wiki say winger.
Re: January transfer window rumours.
French footy website "Made in foot" says he's returning to Marseille but he would rather go to another spainish club. Norwich and Burnley were part of a list of about a dozen teams from across Europe who've been linked with him.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 4:35 pmApologies if I’ve missed this earlier but new to me. Pretty apparent Weghorst will not return to The Turf for next season, no matter how many goals and assists at Man U.
So, if he bags lots of goals and assists, do you think there may be a profit on our £12m outlay if we sell him?
Purely hypothetical I know, but would be nice to know we at least could get our money back.

if he score 10+ at United we will easily make a profit, all depends on how much game time he gets because United are making plenty of chancesIt Is What It Is wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 5:52 pmPretty apparent Weghorst will not return to The Turf for next season, no matter how many goals and assists at Man U.

I like the look of the Bosnian midfielder and that Swedish centre half we’re being linked with. Hope we get both of those.
Then it’s just a decent striker and we’re laughing.

I’d say having set the price with Besiktas at €10m it’s likely hard to go massively above that unless there’s a bidding war. Although assume if we were promoted we’d have a very good argument that our circumstances have changed from when we set that valuation. It Is What It Is wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 5:52 pmPretty apparent Weghorst will not return to The Turf for next season, no matter how many goals and assists at Man U.

I wouldn’t necessarily take stories that players prefer <insert big Turkish club> at face value.

“ Burnley has come to an end in the transfer of Amir Hadziahmetovic. The actor looks very warm to Europe. Beşiktaş also continues its negotiations.”
Not sure how to read that really. Does it mean that we have pulled out or that the player wants to come here? Coming from a Turkish site does Europe mean not Turkey? Ie us? Who knows?

Modern day footballers will have plenty of time to enjoy their riches in a warm, pleasant environment when they retire in their mid to late thirties. In the meantime they should try their utmost to play at the highest level they can irrespective of the country or climate. Challenging yourself as a professional sportsperson is what it is all about. The higher you go also brings more in terms of income and recognition and maybe even success.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 7:34 amI'd go as far as england we just don't have the weather.

I'm not disagreeing with all of that but you will get a odd 1 or 2 who think sod that for a game of soldiers & it's not just the footballers you are effectively expecting other people (spouses) to come & join you, somebody's wife might not give a monkeys about her husband's ambition she wants to bask in the sun all day & top her tan up naturally.karatekid wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 8:27 amModern day footballers will have plenty of time to enjoy their riches in a warm, pleasant environment when they retire in their mid to late thirties.
