Re: January transfer window rumours.
Landed in the past hour. Assuming all is well, perhaps we'll see an announcement tomorrow?
Re: January transfer window rumours.
I think you're seriously underestimating the quality of PSV, if Egan Riley isn't getting in our side, there's no chance he's getting in that PSV side especially when Mauro Junior and Boscagli return from injury.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 5:18 pmPersonally I don't see the midfield thing, but what do I know?
I thought VK was trying to get Seelt in and loan CJER out in return to get him playing at Eindhoven, presumably as a centre back.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I don’t quite recognise this description. THB has been great for us, but I see him more as a “solid defender” than someone who I can recall marauding forward. That’s more Beyer?!gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 6:08 pmIn my opinion THB running with the ball into midfield was what we missed last week at times which contributed to a more even game.
I’ve also been a little unimpressed with THB’s long balls forward at times, although conditions have been awful recently.
Obviously young and plenty of room to improve, so not a criticism just more of an observation on his playing style/strengths.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Plus the opposition all know that he can switch play in a flash, which is massive for us, especially with our pace out wide. The guy is destined to go all the way.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 6:08 pmIn my opinion THB running with the ball into midfield was what we missed last week at times which contributed to a more even game.

That is former Villa striker Marcus Allbäck with him. He is Hjalmars representarive. Also mentioned in sweden that the work permit is sorted

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Both THB and Beyer are more then capable of running with the ball into midfield. As THB wasn't playing Coventry only had to worry about Beyer in that respect so made their job easier. Taylor is a good defender but doesn't have the same composure on the ball as our two regular centre backs.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 6:08 pmIn my opinion THB running with the ball into midfield was what we missed last week at times which contributed to a more even game.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Agree with this. I thought our build up play from the back suffered due to this. THB actually has the highest volume of progressive passes/line breaking passes out of all centre backs in the league.Conroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 6:31 pmBoth THB and Beyer are more then capable of running with the ball into midfield. Re: January transfer window rumours.
I know the square root of feck all about PSV, only that we were interested in Jenson Seelt.
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Marvellous that flight radar has been cranked up again, it didn't go unnoticed here that the flight went very close to the centre of Burnley, if he was sat on the left he would have seen the Yorkshire Street boulevard and the Turf itself.
As for THB, his long passing is excellent and as RV says is vital in us breaking the lines, whereas Beyer is brilliant at ball carrying and committing people, both centre backs are integral to our attacking set up as well as the defensive one of course.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I agree. THBs progressive passing through the lines is massively underrated. Some of the passes he plays that splits the opposition are excellent and turn us quickly onto the attack (it’s the main praise I dish out when talking to non Burnley fans about him). Beyer does seem to carry it further in possession which makes them a nice balance. I’m a huge fan of both, though I expect THB to reach a higher level overall.

Comments from Konyaspor CEO re the Bosnian
“The numbers (from Besiktas) were not at the level we would accept. There is another offer from England. A more satisfactory offer,”
“We do not want Amir to leave. If an agreement is made to sell, (we will need) a replacement.”
Does look the interest is genuine, then?

Second this. Beyer has dome well for us and carries forwards well and switches play well. But the thing THB stands for is his 'vertical' passes- ie straight down the pitch. He switches play well enough but the composure and quality to pick a pass through the midfield areas into the front 4 is what really stands out with him. You can tell he's been moulded by City's academy.

Agreed. Harwood-Bellis passes like a centre mid and Beyer dribbles like a winger.KlyBfc wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 7:01 pmI agree. THBs progressive passing through the lines is massively underrated. Nixon has mentioned something about Ekdal but can't see it because its behind a paywall. I'm assuming he's just repeating what the Swedish reporter said.

I fitted that into my head into the safety dance music. It went quite nicely given that the last two words get repeated a few times.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 8:27 pmA new song before he's even through the door

I don't think you'll out do Maidstone United's "dancing Breen" to the ABBA music.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Noticed in Beyers presser Alex James asked him about his future at end of the season and mentioned an option to sign perm if we go up, and Beyer without saying he wants to sign, was saying how much he loves it. I think there must be a clause but Germans are saying there isn’t to please fans so they don’t look like they are letting him go cheap

You know…I reckon I’d have heard about this imminent transfer earlier if this thread wasn’t clogged up with folk arguing over broken clocks . Only scan this board two or three times a day so I’ve found out more about clocks than I have about Foster.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 10:25 pmI block that Jones geezer but numerous Twitter reports tonight from overseas accounts suggesting Foster is on his way to us for €7m.

Anyway, great news, we’re not far off locking down another league title at this rate.
