I'm just going in the home end, will be wearing colours and be safe as I'm going along with a big group of Luton fans
I may be getting some home end tickets too from a work colleague who’s a LTFC season ticket holder, but need to wait till they go on general sale next week

My 3 tickets dropped on the door mat this morning. Nearly as quick as Amazon!

Amazon are crazy. Sometimes my parcels arrive before I’ve even ordered!

Maybe someone in logistics can explain how it's done, but Amazon have delivered already next year's Christmas presents for my relatives....and I haven't even asked them what they want yet!

Oh and if anyone has an adult and under 18 spare for Luton, please let me know!

As someone who grew up in Bedford I know a fair few Hatters myself, always a fixture I've looked forward to over the years and this is no different.

I'm going for a beer with a couple of LTFC mates before the game, so might see you. Keep an eye out for The MIGs though ;)

The problem is that we have way more season tickets than we get allocated tickets. So Why not prioritise fans with longer purchase histories? I 'only' have 5500 points so I completely missed out for a Luton ticket but that is the 1st time I can recall not being able to get a ticket for a game I wanted to see.

If you don't have current season ticket it wouldn't matter if you had 30,000 points!
That's not a problem though. It means there's an equal chance of getting a ticket for any away game for the vast majority of supporters. The only 'loyalty' requirement would be that you'd committed and put the money in for that season.

No doubt you'd still have some games that went to general sale and more people would get a chance to go to the more popular ones. It'd also stop people with kids moaning that they can't get a ticket for their 6 year old ahead of someone who's had a ST for 15 years.

In short: it's fine as it is. If we're changing it, then STs > Gen sale. And we should stop calling it 'loyalty'. We're all loyal. Well, 99% of us are.

When did the points system start
I've checked my purchase history and the earliest entry is the 2004/2005 season ticket. That sounds about right - we were in dire financial straits and the club were keen to sell season tickets so loyalty points were a bit of added value. Memory is a bit weak on this one but I seem to recall that I bought one or two away tickets back then without getting loyalty points - probably because I just rolled up to the office instead of buying online (which wasn't really the norm in those far off days - in fact I'm not sure it was even possible for us).

Generally speaking there was never any need for such a scheme at Burnley in the past because (certainly since the 70s) we had a ground which was bigger than any realistic requirement and an away following that was smaller than most other grounds away capacities.

In contrast I went to school in Leeds in the 1960s and even then can remember Leeds United fans collecting tokens off match day programs to paste into token sheets which were needed for some (maybe all?) away ticket purchases. We all joke about their endless claims of massive support but they did seem to attract huge crowds back then.

In the 99/00 season I’m sure some games required away ticket stubs/tickets to purchase in a priority order unless I’ve completely made that up.

I vaguely remember my dad used to go down with them to prove we had enough as it was way before an online system etc or it may have just been for the Scunthorpe match.

A long time ago and I was only ten years old so probably made it up :D

That’s correct, and like you say, everyone swopped and borrowed stubs.

No I think there were some ad hoc arrangements like that - I just can't remember any details. The one thing that I hope we never see again under any circumstances is 5 hour queues down Harry Potts Way for the biggest games (although obviously I want lots more big games!!!)

Similar to us 07.15 out of Piccadilly to Euston then on to St Pancras then Luton. 18.33 out of Euston.

Hour later for us from Manchester but the same train back North.

Off peak so anytime from St Pancras to Luton and back. Looks very straightforward, 30ish min journey.

Only giving me the option of Leeds > Sheff > Leicester > Kettering > Luton or another long winded journey via a rail replacement service to Bedford.

You’ve not been able to get a direct train to Luton from Sheffield for a few years now.
