Re: Merseyside derby
Could be a game changer, Tarks hits the post, then Pool break and Salah scores.
No idea what Pickford was doing though.

Re: Merseyside derby
In fairness to Pickford, he was left 3v1 and gambled on the ball reaching the furthest man. In hindsight he made the wrong call, but he was left completely exposed.

Re: Merseyside derby
Everton might as well be playing with 10 here, Simms is absolute gash up front. It's a good example of why we need one of Jay or Ashley for next season

Re: Merseyside derby
Everton are so poor, park the bus and try squeak a corner from hoofing it. Not an ounce of football.

Re: Merseyside derby
Pickford had about 3 strikers bearing down on him and if he'd have stayed on his line they could have controlled it and scored easily. Pickford gambled to try and cut it off and to be fair the cross wasn't meant for Salah who only just got to it. Had it got past Salah then Pickford would have got it.
Id say Dwight was more to blame for his terrible dragged mishit effort that allowed Liverpool to spring the counter attack when Everton had so many players committed forward for the corner

Re: Merseyside derby
At one point it didn’t look like Salah was going to reach the ball, he did well to. In that situation he was going to leave an open goal for one or the other.
Re: Merseyside derby
Everton been absolutely tripe on the ball as expected under their new manager, but can count themselves unfortunate to be behind here.

I'm amazed there hasn't been a booking in this half.
Re: Merseyside derby
Everton are seriously in trouble if they are relying on Simms as a striker all season.
That half from them makes me shudder with memories from the past couple of years.

Fabinho and Everton’s number 8 must be due one.

Our wingers would destroy both these sides.they’re so bad that even Manure look like they’ll stroll into the top 4.
Re: Merseyside derby
Everton are set up just like we were under Dyche. The young lad upfront is struggling, he needs Maupay on.
Re: Merseyside derby
He'd be down the middle for us now.
Re: Merseyside derby
Maupay gives me Vydra vibes, from Dyche's perspective.

Re: Merseyside derby
Put to Gary Neville that Jordan Pickford’s positioning for the goal was interesting. Neville said: “It’s not interesting, it’s just bad.”

Re: Merseyside derby
Hang on, you say they are set up like we were but suggest the lad up front needs someone alongside him. I always thought the criticism of Dyche at Burnley was playing 442 with two strikers.
Simms has looked out of his depth but with DCL out they have no options.

Everton so predictable, they look like us in the last 18 Dyche months. Horrific.

Dyche didn’t bring him back. He was recalled on 1st January by Lampard.warksclaret wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 9:02 pmSD loves a big target man and brought him back from Sunderland-Maupey must be p..... off
