Re: Burnley v Watford - Player Ratings
Muric 4 - he will learn and grow from this just like he did against Blackpool
Roberts 7 - been his biggest critic but a real consistent performer now
Ekdal 6 - not sure where his motm came from, lots of wayward passes but some good interceptions and last ditch stuff
Beyer 6 - hope it’s not too serious
Maatsen 4 - poor
Cullen 8* - we’d have been snookered without Cullen tonight
Brownhill 5 - poor
Gudmundsson 6
Tella 5
Zaroury 5 - full back had the better of him

Muric 4 - from his incredibly high recent standards, he was miles off it
Roberts 6 - kept going
Ekdal 6 - poor first half, better second
Beyer 6 - fine
Maatsen 4 - felt like every pass he made was to a Watford player
Cullen 8* - easily our best player out there tonight
Brownhill 6 - kept going, good corner
JBG 5 - poor touch when through early on set the scene
Tella 5 - really sloppy all night
Zaroury 5 - arguably one of his worst performances yet but still looked the most likely
Barnes 4 - minus 1 for really embarrassing stuff with the defenders
Bpf 6 - Nowt to do
Foster 6 - did alright
Twine 6 - used the ball well enough
Al Dakhil 7 - looks assured
Roberts 6 - kept going
Ekdal 6 - poor first half, better second

Re: Burnley v Watford - Player Ratings
Muric 4 didn’t work for him tonight, usually so assured a rare off night
Roberts 6. Kept going all game, think he’s been excellent since his return from World Cup
Ekdal 6. Sloppy with ball first half, more comfortable second half
Beyer 6. Love this guy, just wish his signing was permanent, hope his injury isn’t bad
Maatsen 5. Distribution way below what we’ve come to expect from him
Cullen 7. MOM He’s becoming the glue that holds our midfield together
Brownhill 6. Worked tirelessly against an athletic Watford midfield
Gudmundsson 6. Tried to keep things moving
Tella 6. Picked the wrong option on more than one occasion
Zaroury 5. Didn’t work out for him tonight, but keep going, still a real threat
Barnes 6. One of the players that kept the ball well in the first half, think he was taken off for his own protection
Al Dakhil 7. Mention it on match thread, he’s a real gem, 20yrs old and looks so comfortable
Peacock-Farrell 6 I really like him, although had nothing to do when he came on
Foster 5. Still looks a bit raw, but in the few cameos, looks promising
Twine 5. Not involved much, but we should all judge him when he gets more minutes
A below performance but still managed to get a point, this team doesn’t know when it’s beaten!!

Re: Burnley v Watford - Player Ratings
Can’t believe Muric is being slaughtered, the ball took a nasty bounce ,if he had been a striker ,& missed a sitter it would have all been forgotten about,he’s vital to the way we play, onward ,and upwards .

Re: Burnley v Watford - Player Ratings
Muric 5 asked to play out did found options harder and was pressed harder
Roberts 6 Does what he does links and get forward will always be no better than this level for me
Ekdal 5 poor when pressed has no pace but reads it well enough
Beyer 7 Press resistant has everything bar natural height and power into his man
Maatsen 4 pressed and made poor choices learning curve tonight
Cullen 6 pivot and kept it well struggled to shake off his man but tidy
Brownhill 6 outfought at times struggles when he he doesn’t win the physical duels
JBG 5 offered little want to see a bit more invention at times links ok
Tella 5 poor 1st touch but rapid not convinced he good enough yet to play higher consistently
Zaroury 5 guilty of slowing okay down a touch tonight struggled to beat his man good technical player maybe lacks that killer pace but a good technical player
Barnes 4 play the game Hoedt had his number.
BPF 6
Foster 5
Al Dakhil 6 composed on the ball need to see him turned to test good size

Maatsen 5 poor tonight
Cullen 7
Brownhill 6, he can look very tired some games, it looked like that today
JBG 6
Tella 7
Barnes 6, very unlucky not to score
Zarourry 6
Great start but not so creative tonight-we tried too often to thread it through a packed defence
Obefami did himself no harm tonight and can see him moving up the pecking order now in terms of coming on as a sub

Re: Burnley v Watford - Player Ratings
Muric 6 - VK will strip the other two marks off him that that decision deserves. Injured my arse, good man management by the boss.
Roberts 6 - okay, awful tash so -1
Ekdal 5 - what CB ducks?
Beyer 6 - I think it’s a groin strain going with the wrong leg
Maatsen 4 - really really poor
Cullen 8 - consistently good
Brownhill 5 - poor, where was he playing? Left Cullen exposed.
Gudmundsson 9* - brilliant ball with no one home being the highlight, but he does so much to break up play and transition us quickly. Also has found the confidence to leave a foot in.
Tella 7 - for work rate alone
Zaroury 5 - quiet and is becoming manageable because he cuts in 85% of the time.
Barnes 5 - lost the battle with two physical CBs
Al-Dakhil 7
BPF 7
Foster 7

Everyone around me was convinced he should have caught it, I just wondered if he had he might have carried outside the box. If he could have caught it, he should have.

Carwin this is a player rating thread, why don’t you post your own ratings, instead of using the thread to criticise others ratings. It’s all about opinions and everyone is allowed theirs

Sadly there was too much of the Barnes of old here. More focused on whinging at the ref, sitting on his arse palms outstretched and generally asking for a second yellow.
I want the AB of the previous handful of games..if this is him reverting to type then, for me, he can bugger off now.

Re: Burnley v Watford - Player Ratings
From tv
Muric 5 not great tonight
Roberts 7 defended well against a tough team
Ekdal 7 a bit edgy first half but good second half
Beyer 7 really hope his injury is minor, the team needs him
Maatsen 5 one of our players whose passing was awful
Cullen 8* our best player by far tonight, kept us in the game in midfield
Brownhill 6 didn’t stamp himself on the game at all
JBG 7 some good moves and passes but not in game enough
Tella 6 another who gave the ball away
Barnes 6 silly billy antics again
Zaroury 6 gave the ball, poor crosses, not at his best
BPF 7 did all that was asked of him
Al Dakil 7 very good when he came on, especially for a young lad
Watford did a good job on us and kept pressing us til the end. They were cynical and a bit nasty at times but it paid off, our passing game wasn’t at its best. Good point, move on with confidence.

Re: Burnley v Watford - Player Ratings
Can’t believe you’re defending him. Head it, take step back and catch it. Anything other than thigh it into the air and then fail to claim it. It was poor…just like his passing.

Muric 4 - off day but easy to forget he’s young for a keeper. Correct decision to bring him off.
Roberts 7 - Been top class since the World Cup, added that composure when needed
Ekdal 7 - Great addition, easy to forget it’s only his third league game
Beyer 7 - Hope he isn’t out for a while, been top drawer and would’ve won MOTM had he stayed on
Maatsen 4 - One of his biggest fans but that spell in the second half was his worst all season. Again, easy to forget how young he is
Cullen 8* - Signing of the summer. As said above, we would’ve been snookered without him. So composed, classy, a Premier League quality player.
Brownhill 6 - Would’ve liked to have seen him further forward for JBG, personally thought this game was crying out for Jack Cork to take the sting out of their counter attacks.
Tella 6 - Not his best night but still brought a good energy which forced Watford back a few yards.
JBG 5 - Again, love him but feel he’s too one footed to play behind the striker. Would’ve been better on the right, linking with Roberts and JB, keeping the ball moving whilst having Brownhill as the 10/8,
Zaroury 5 - Off night but was having to deal with good quality defending. Can’t expect him to play incredibly well every week!
Barnes 5 - Offered little going forward, good move to bring Obafemi and Foster on when he was losing his head.
BPF 6 - Assured performance, be interesting to see if he plays against Luton. Probably the best No.2 in the league
Twine 5 - Feels lightweight for these situations but kept play ticking over towards the end. Thought he was destined to scoee that free kick…
Al-Dakhil 7 - Really impressive tonight in his first proper test in a pressurised environment. Needs work physically but he’s a great prospect.
Obafemi 6 - Was puzzled as to why he was on the wing but fox in the box and a great celebration
Foster 6 - Brought that bit of pace, did well harrowing the opponent given Barnes was unusually lacking. So unfortunate not to score
Roberts 7 - Been top class since the World Cup, added that composure when needed

Muric 3 I’m a fan but tonight was abysmal. His passing was woeful and the goal speaks for itself. Not solely the knee, as that can happen, but worse for me is the failure to gather the ball then his positioning when it goes wider

Re: Burnley v Watford - Player Ratings
He only needed to stand still in his area and catch the ball. His distribution was atrocious. If he is injured as claimed then he has an excuse. He was a 10 v Preston and a 3 tonite

Re: Burnley v Watford - Player Ratings
Credit goes to Watford, they defended well and had the players we knew would be a threat to us on the break. This is a good lesson for the players ahead of the PL campaign next season and a reminder to some fans that we'll need to adapt our style a touch.
That's said, it's a proper rick that gifted them the lead and our lads have shown their character again to keep going to the death. Fair result in the end.
Muric 4 as good as Saturday was, he was under way more pressure from the off and he made some poor decisions- he wasn't alone in being a bit too casual at the back though. There's confidence and there's complacency, and there were a few who seemed the think they were on easy street again tonight after the weekend. WTF he was doing for their goal only he will know, although it was that bizarre, he might not.
Roberts 7 fine
Ekdal 7 did well again even after his switch to the left
Beyer 7 looked like he landed funny after a nudge from their forward, hopefully not a long one
Maatsen 6 got pretty sloppy but that was partly because he was trying to make things happen. Some woeful passes though.
Cullen 7 I've used one word to describe him the last 3 weeks - metronome. And he was that again.
Brownhill 6 the usual energy but he kept finding himself in the wrong space or facing the wrong way
Gudmundsson 7 not sure we fared better when he went off tbh. Odd decision as he was probably our best player with Cullen.
Tella 6 looked our main threat but was guilty of overplaying too often
Barnes 6 bar the weird shenanigans in that 5 mins in the area, he did fine. If he'd just played in Zaroury rather than go for a flying left foot volley from 20 yards...
Zaroury 6 saw a lot of the ball but his final ball was below par
Peacock-Farrell 6 added a nice bit of chaos at the end
Al-Dakhil 6 decent enough start at this level
Can't win them all. Quite enjoying the novelty of only drawing.

Re: Burnley v Watford - Player Ratings
Muric 4 - bit of a heads gone tonight, it happens
Roberts 6 - ok
Ekdal 7 - looks another belter
Beyer 7 - praying injury isn’t too serious, another amazing marauding run forward
Maatsen 4 - gave the ball away multiple times
Cullen 7* - best player on the night, constant dynamo
Brownhill 5 - bit headless chicken
Gudmundsson 7 - was increasingly effective, shouldn’t have come off
Tella 5 - they dealt with him well
Zaroury 5 - ditto
Barnes 5 - some decent stuff but some of the silly stuff of old that I though had been consigned to the bin
Al Dakhil 7 - looks another good un
Peacock-Farrell 6 - shakier distribution
Foster 5
Twine 5
Bit of an off night for the lads against a powerful outfit with dangerous forwards that worked hard. Throw in a couple of injuries and it looked like it was going to be the first L in quite a while. But no, we just keep going, keep marauding forward, never know when to put up the white flag. We still had other chances and it took a crazy Muric moment for them to score despite all this so it’s hardly a klaxon moment. Hindsight a wonderful thing but surprised he kept the same team as Sat and I thought it was a rare error to take JBG off, but we’ll take the point and move forward.

Muric 4 A howler but he was great v Preston let’s move on
Roberts 6
Beyer 7 hope he’s not out for long he’s been superb lately
Ekdal 6
Maatsen 5 off it tonight
Cullen 7 kept things ticking nice passing and movement again
Brownhill 6
Tella 5
JBG 6
Zaroury 5
Barnes 5
Subs
Al Dakhil 7 looks promising
BPF 7 looked composed which we needed but not much to do
Foster 6 needs more time
Twine good on ball but looks lightweight
Obafemi brought some urgency, physicality and a bit of composure where it mattered on with him. Right place right time well done.
Watford had done their homework and pressed very well. They were very physical and we weren’t helped with this by the ref. Our passing was off and we looked leggy.

Bayer MOM what a player this guy is, I'll be amazed if we manage to sign him.
