The Saints board stated that it was just a joke and they caught everyone hook, line and sinker.

Seems that the no fish brigade has moved to Scotland.

Chris grayling and Stephen crabb are said to be considering their positions.

Has any reason ever been stated for inflatables being banned?

What was the rationale behind this?

PS: Well done to Grimsby FC for talking to Southampton and getting them to see sense. Can't help but feel this was nothing other than deliberate party pooping. Nice to see the killjoys defeated.

I remember some clubs banned them after the infamous beach ball goal/no goal incident, was that Liverpool it happened to?

Perhaps this is just a legacy from that?

It was indeed - somebody from the Liverpool end threw a beach ball on the pitch which subsequently deviated a shot and fooled Pepe Reina resulting in a goal.
