Burnley Military Vetrans FC

Post by Sham69 » Thu Feb 16, 2023 6:05 pm

Burnley Military Vetrans FC is a football club that is run by Burnley FC in the community.

It is open to military veterans and to current service personnel from the Armed Forces.

We train at The Prairie Sports Village on a Tuesday night.
October to April - 20:00 - 21:30
May to September - 19:00 - 21:00

We represent Burnley FC in a North West Military Vetrans league playing against teams from Man City, Preston, Wigan, Rochdale, Blackpool etc etc. We also carry out pitch side ceremonies at the remembrance weekend football fixtures. There is no obligation to do these. We have many members who just come training to have a laugh and to keep fit and play football.

We welcome all abilities/ages and male and female players. We work towards improving mental and physical health and the general well-being of ex forces personnel.

Everything is completely free. Coaches/equipment/pitch booking, etc, are all provided by Burnley FCitC.

If anyone is interested, please email daniella.worth@burnleyfc.com for more information and to register your interest.

Thanks.

Good to know. Re emailing, well, I connected with Daniella on linkedin and sent a message just asking how to get involved in some way as I'm ex forces, not even a response, odd.

That does seem strange Hebden. I’ve been registered with the Veterans team for a good few years now, and since Daniella came in, she’s always on hand when needed/reached out for.

If anyone reading this has any hesitancy regarding the veterans set up, please don’t. The lads are a great bunch and you will be greeted with open arms.

Sorry to hear that, Hebden. I don't work for the club, I'm ex forces myself, and I am involved with the group as a player. Will chase it up for you on Monday when Daniella is back in work.
