Show Beyer some love

Post by what_no_pies » Sat Feb 25, 2023 4:18 pm

I'd be suprised if anyone didn't want this lad to sign for us. In which case we need a song to serenade him with.

I was thinking of Dare by Gorillaz:

He's coming up
He's coming up
He's coming up
It's Beyer

I can't imagine it working that well as a footy chant so won't be giving up my day job yet.

A song can only help our chances of persuading him to stay on so we need something.

Anyone got anything? I' ve set the bar fairly low...

I don't usually write songs, but you've got me going - or, maybe it's this afternoon's 4-0 win in style.

"The wonderful thing about Beyer
Is that Beyer plays a wonderful game.
Beyer plays, Beyer plays,
He plays a wonderful game."

Inspired by Tigger's song from Winnie the Pooh.

Couple of minor tweaks to suggest. Strategies/recipes doesn't make much difference but like using his first name in the first line.

Look for the Beyer necessities, the JORDAN Beyer necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the Beyer necessities, Vincent kompany's STRATEGIES
That bring the Beyer necessities to life

“Becken-Beyer, Becken-Beyer, Jordan Becken-Beyer”

To the tune of “Give it up.”

Simple and more likely to catch on.

Simple and more likely to catch on!!

We have enough chants, songs are much better.

It's only 4 lines as opposed to 1.

Shouldn't be too difficult, surely.

Plus, as someone already said, it's the best one for over a hundred years.

Still prefer recipes to strategies, both fit but in this case I think it's better to stick with the original.

Same meaning, anyway.

Just thought few if the lads were left out Friday night so here’s one for Jordan

To the tune you are my sunshine

Oh Jordan Beyer
Oh what a player
You came to Burnley
From Germany
From Monchengladbach
Don’t ever go back
Oh don’t take my Beyer Away.

That is the best online offering g I have seen!

Not sure a Clarets choir could sing it at the pace it deserves. They usually merge all the words at 100mph. This needs timing and also repeating.

Agreed, Beyer needs a song and Conroy's effort above is outstanding, another alternative of course would be "Jordon, Jordon the Beyer everyone knows his name".
