Middlesbrough, Sheffield United or Possibly Reading.

What are people’s predictions of when promotion will be mathematically achieved?

I’m going Sheffield United at home.

I hope it's before we play our FA Cup semi final so we can concentrate on that game.

I think Reading away. The way Boro are going I don't see them dropping too many points.

Boro will win their next 3. We only play 2 in that time before our game. I think Reading or Rotherham.

If we win our next 3 (one of those games is at boro) it wouldn’t matter what they do we would be promoted by beating Sheffield United

Just done a little Excel model and it says 70% likely promotion against Blades on Easter Monday and 55% the title too.

Used some typical odds for all the upcoming games. I won’t bore anyone with the details. I think Blades will drop a few points.

I’d be highly surprised if we win either promotion or title at Boro, but unfortunately still a decent chance Reading will be important. Can’t see me going down there for what is a formality anyway so I hope we go full tilt and wrap it all up by Easter Monday.

As it stands, we need 4 wins and 2 draws, assuming Boro win every game. I don't think they will, but the way they are going they will be very close

Boro play Stoke, Preston and Huddersfield in the next 3,I can't see them dropped anything there, so I can't see promotion until the QPR game

I want Boro in the playoffs in case our mates down the M65 make it there as well.
They'll tear em a new one.

Very improbable. Would mean Boro have to beat us at their place. Very possible. But so is an away win.

If they win their next 3 and we get 4 pts from our pair of games (pessimistic) we will be 12 ahead (with a game in hand but that is irrelevant).

If they then beat us they will be 9 behind with 6 to play. In that scenario it may take until the QPR game. But that is very much improbable. I don’t know what percentage I worked it out as, my PC is upstairs turned off, but it was low, maybe under 5% likely.

Much more likely, as I put above, is Sheff Utd at home for both promotion and the league because I expect them and Boro to be neck and neck by then.

It’s all moot of course, the bookies now have us at 1/100 to win the league, but it is good fun and helps decide which matches to go to, and, whether to go away at Easter. I’m not going away 8-)

Think we will do with a last minute winner at 'Boro, right in front of the away end, and it will be like York all over again, except this time I'm too old and knackered to pitch invade

The last three promotions to PL have been clinched on a Monday…why break the habit?

I hope we clinch promotion against Sheffield United because of the way they celebrated against us and that would be the icing on the cake .
