Haven’t we already signed a full back from a Portuguese side?

He reminds me of Jack Grealish, he’s a really top player

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Couple I’d like to add to our squad (if reasonable fees) would be Hamer at Cov or Chair at QPR.
Both very decent at this level, not sure if they could make the step up.

Never been convinced with Hamer, fully agree on Chair though. He has always looked a cut above.

Quite like Hamer, his passing range and technical ability in general is PL level. Main issue with him is his size (same as Cullen).
Chair probably needs a move now for his career to progress, seems a bit hit and miss to me and for the same money I'd prefer we move for someone like Yari Verschaeren who Vinny will know well.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
I back Hamer defo feels like that young Jack Cork that we all know we need someone who just runs and makes tackles although Hamer defo has some extra flair
Re: Summer Transfer Window
Fair point, Steddyman. On the other hand, he would be far more exposed in the PL. I do think he's grown in terms of confidence and consequently the fans feel more confident about him.
Re: Summer Transfer Window
I would like us to have THB for another season however I’m not sure City will loan him out again? A City supporting mate of mine was surprised that we had managed to loan him this season. He thought that he was on the verge of the first team for them?

I absolutely love Verschaeren, but he’s had a quiet season. Watched Anderlecht recently and he was completely anonymous, but generally a great talent.RVclaret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 5:32 pmQuite like Hamer, his passing range and technical ability in general is PL level. Agree about Hamers physique being similar to Cullen, but a good deputy perhaps? Right now we don’t have any cover for him at all.
I wouldn’t want us to spend £m’s on either - but would be up for deals at reasonable fees.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
I’ve been gutted not to see more of Churlinov this season. I’m not sure what’s happened. I’m hoping he stays and comes good.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 2:19 pmI can't seeing Bastien hanging about sadly, doesn't seem to be pulling up any trees. I suspect Churlinov may also go
I think we need to try to keep hold of Thomas, McNally, Bastien, Churlinov, etc, but maybe send them on loan. I’d like to see us sign young players and then send them on loan to aid their development. That way if we go down again we’d have players ready to come back in and replace the inevitable sales.
I could see a Thomas/McNally partnership being one of the best at this level for example.

Ryan Kent linked also on a free transfer, think he would be very good as a number 10 in the prem

Re: Summer Transfer Window
We all name players we’ve seen in the Championship but I doubt that’s where we will do much shopping. Maybe an odd one but I think it’s more likely players barely anyone had heard of until we are linked.
The links to Alex Scott are interesting but I suspect wide of the mark. He looks exceptional to me and I think he will end up at one of the bigger clubs.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
He plays wide left mainly. Not bad back up for Zaroury.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 5:57 pmRyan Kent linked also on a free transfer, think he would be very good as a number 10 in the prem

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Much as it pains me, I've never heard any mention of our having an option - WITH a pre-agreed price - to buy Nathan Tella and without that I suspect he'll not be with us next season; either Soton will take him back to St Mary's, or more likely they'll sell him to someone with deeper pockets than Burnley.

Yep and one year left on the contract. Did all his best stuff under VK.

If I’m honest I’m not sure we will go for either. I suspect there is a better to be found abroad at lower prices.RVclaret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 5:32 pmQuite like Hamer, his passing range and technical ability in general is PL level. Main issue with him is his size (same as Cullen).

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Given our signings this season, we appear to target technically gifted, young, players, near the end of their contract, thus reducing the possible fee.

Would only be interested in either if they were available at low £m’s.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
If I were Alan Pace, talking to investors, the most inevitable question would be about the risk of relegation - and I’d want to tell them our plans for dealing with that.
Obviously their would need to be multi-layered, with a focus on investing so you don’t get relegated at all. But a key part of my plan would be having a large pool of young talent out on loan getting experience of the league below, gaining vital experience so they’re ready to step in if needed.
