Good half that. These are a good side and we have had at least 3 very good chances and the goal too.

A bit sloppy at the back, but full credit for winning he ball back when they do. But need to cut it out second half

Good half from us. They are yet to have a shot on goal. Considering they are at home and score for fun here that’s quite impressive.

Clean sheet in the second half and we're up.

I really think we could do with Ekdal back in. It was much more apparent against Sunderland but we've been so much more wasteful and sloppy in our defensive third, giving it away and finding it harder to effectively clear our lines and keep possession, or move through the thirds. Plus he's very good on set pieces.
Everyone focuses on his lack of pace but I'm struggling to think of an example where it's actually caused a problem. We were so rarely even threatened with him in, nevermind conceding.

We’re doing well on the whole but they are catching us far too many times in our own half. They’re not doing anything to punish us yet but it only takes 1 moment. We need to be more aware of their press.

Tella really ought to have made it two, but has been brilliant in all other aspects

Not the first side to try & kick us off the pitch this season.
Thought they'd have more 'Football' about them though.
Good how we've kept their crowd down.
Decent half that.

Gudmundsson is the number ten we've been crying out for for years. He's been excellent in that half, and for quite a while now.

The standard of officiating in this league is nothing short of shocking. Brownhill needs to get at the ref about the tackling or rather carrying through on Zaouray. A premiership ref would have picked up on this from the off. As for not giving the penalty, words fail me.

I think i see what al shakil is ahead of him fo this game, his pace getting back is required, he could distribute a bit better though

So far so good, our goal might have been offside, but we have created another couple of big chances, notably Tella's that he should have buried.

Boro have made it tough as expected, but we have the option of Benson off the bench among others.

Barnes as ever relishing the big games.

Yep we were on it no doubt about it . Tella has far too much pace for the whole of the Boro back line , he will score in the 2nd half .

Decent half against a well organised opponent who is pressing well and forcing us to play a bit too much football in our own half. But our errors aside they've not really made a chance, whereas we've had several. Zaroury and Tella are giving their full backs real problems and Barnes has been excellent.

Goal is level before VAR and is borderline now we have it. No criticism of the linesman for that. Should have been a penalty on Brownhill but Lenihan couldn't be sent off I don't think once Tella played on - the offence would be denying a goalscoring opportunity and obviously Tella got away and should have scored. Ref has generally let the game flow and that's added to the spectacle.

Slightly sloppy passing out, Tella far better up the middle, all in alla good half.

Game is on an edge right now and whilst we have won the first half I feel that we haven’t been brilliant so I’m hoping we punish them second half because their defence doesn’t look great in my opinion. An obvious cliche I know, but my god the next goal is vital tonight!

Cullen is very good.

Barnes and Brownhill playing well.

Tella getting kicked around - but boy does he cover some ground!

& Maatsen not having a good one...

Barnes is leading the line excellently , we're playing alright . Maatsen needs to stop playing to many sloppy balls inside , which keep getting intercepted .

Barnes at his best today. Smith for them has enough fouls including about 3 off the ball to have at least 2 if not 3 reds !!!

There's no way that's ever a penalty. Archer's foot taps Cullen's knee with the faintest touch and he just goes down.

Since the possible offside the referee has given Middlesbrough everything, and made bad calls in their favour 3 times. Abysmal official.
