Starting XI at Huddersfield

Post by tiger76 » Mon Apr 10, 2023 10:18 am

A mark of our progress is the starting XI we named at Huddersfield that 1st game way back in July.

Muric
Roberts
THB
Taylor
Maatsen
Cullen
Cork
Bastien
Costelloe
Barnes
Brownhill

Our bench consisted of the following.

BPF
Dodgson
Egan-Riley
McNally
Phillips
Twine
Vitinho

And only Twine and Vitinho got on in the last 20.

At that point I was most excited by Bastien of all our signings. Shame it's not really worked out. I do think there's a decent footballer in there but he's perhaps not cut out for the pace of th English game.

If you mean currently he's on loan to Bradford in League 2, but he's not a regular for them, although he did come off the bench for the last half hour or so at Crawley on Friday.

Was JBG injured at the start of the season? I'm guessing so otherwise surely he would have been involved.

Yes as was Jay. We really were down to the bare bones in wide areas and forward players, fast forward several months and what a contrast we have options all over the park.

I still don't think we have played better than that first half at Huddersfield.

I remember going down for a drink at halftime and everybody being a bit stunned at what they'd just watched.
