PNE
In 7th at the moment and only out of the play offs on goal difference.
I’d like to see them in the PL next season, partly because I think it would be the easiest 6 points we’d get all year, but also would much rather have them go up than Blackburn.

Re: PNE
Shame Preston and Blackburn can't both go up but out of the two I think I'd prefer Blackburn even though Preston really do deserve a season in the Premier League

I’d like Preston to take bastards spot in play offs. Then bottle it against Millwall at Wembley.

Re: PNE
I hope PNE stay down and I think they will miss out on the playoffs as will the other Lancashire team. Both of them have negative goal differences and as such should not be good enough to reach a shootout to join an elite team like ours.

Re: PNE
Barstewards game in hand is us. A 0-3 result would take PNE above them. Easy as peasy.

Millwall have to play PNE and Blackburn.
Blackburn have to play PNE, Burnley, Luton and Millwall.
PNE have to play Millwall, Blackburn, Sheffield United and Sunderland.
Norwich travel to Boro next week and have WBA to play.
Cov have to play Blackburn and Boro.
Interesting weeks ahead

Re: PNE
PNE doing well but they've had a nice run of fixtures - next four or five will prove their credentials. Good chance though because pretty much everybody around them faltered yesterday.

Re: PNE
Looking at the weekend results, it looks like only Luton want it. Never seen so many bottle jobs. It's no wonder we are miles ahead of these teams.

Re: PNE
Preston are on a roll at the minute and confidence will be high. They play some decent teams away from home where they have excelled this season, so could do well. If they do get in they could be the team that carries on going and gets up. Mind you, they haven't really got a good record in play off finals.

The standard of the Championship has always been like this. I remember a bang average Burnley coming 5th in 2008/09.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 10:07 pmthe second and third worst teams to visit the Turf this season, mind boggling average league
Re: PNE
I don't mind Preston. Flabbergasted to see how high in the table they are though. They're a bad side. As for the Prem, it is pretty funny that three of the big four Lancashire sides have been up there and it's Preston who haven't. I thought Morecambe would get there before them but the way things are going, maybe they'll sneak in the playoffs. And all the better if it's at Rovers expense.

Re: PNE
That’s an interesting graphic RV but I think at this stage of the season it can be easiest to get points from mid table teams as they don’t have much to play for in terms of relegation or play offs. Although I agree difficult run in for Blackburn and Preston.

Re: PNE
It does look tough for PNE with only 2 home games (Rovers, Sunderland) and 3 tough away games (Millwall, Swans, Blades)
Millwall have it much easier (on paper) with 3 home (PNE, Rovers, Brum)) and 2 relatively easy aways (Wigan, B'pool).
Cant rule out Norwich but they have only 2 homes (Swans, B'pool) 3 aways (QPR, Boro, WBA).
Rovers have 4 homes (Hull, Cov, Clarets, Luton) and only 2 away (v tough games at Millwall and PNE).
There are quite a few games amongst the main protagonists though and that is likely to decide who gets the 5th and 6th spots (assuming no big slip ups from Luton & Boro). I fancy Luton, Boro, Millwall & Norwich to make up the play-offs.
Checking my bookie reveals: (for promotion, obviously excluding the already decided)
Sheff U (1/50)
Boro (7/4)
Luton (11/4)
Millwall (11/2) = Norwich (11/2)
Rovers 9/1
WBA (16/1)
PNE (20/1)
Having seen which I'm now tempted to have half a crown on PNE.
