Sheffield four times bigger than Barnsley. Good effort from Barnsley in these tough times for so many people.

About the same ratio as when we played Stockport at the old Wembley.

Should be a cracking game and hopefully Duffy's lot can do it.

Not surprised by Wednesday, could probably sell loads more. Good effort from Barnsley too, it’s not a cheap day out.
At the risk of becoming one of those attendance weirdos, it shows how great Burnley’s support is from a small town.

Very poor effort by the tykes considering the population is around 250,000

I agree. Barnsley is a big place. Over three times bigger than Burnley.alwaysaclaret wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 1:05 pmVery poor effort by the tykes considering the population is around 250,000

There’s a lot of Wednesday support in areas that fall under Barnsley. Always been a huge club round here.

False narrative talking only about the town of Burnley. The catchment are at is quite a bit bigger. There being no discernible gap from colne to Burnley for example. Actual catchment stretches to Skipton in the east.

All clubs have catchment areas larger than the actual town/city.Yanquiclaret wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 1:44 pmFalse narrative talking only about the town of Burnley. And they aren’t any Barnsley fans from the towns that surround Barnsley?Yanquiclaret wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 1:44 pmFalse narrative talking only about the town of Burnley. The population of Burnley, Pendle and Skipton is still lower than Barnsley. A town of 250,000 plus surrounding areas only taking 20,000 to Wembley is poor.
Re: Sheff Wed v Barnsley
Let's hope Barnsley score 1 more goal than Wednesday then.

In my experience Skipton does have a few clarets but mostly for Leeds due to Yorkshire loyalty.

Think I'm right in saying we shifted 38k when we played Sheff Utd in 2009.

is it?durhamclaret wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 11:20 amAbout the same ratio as when we played Stockport at the old Wembley.
Wasn't it about 4 to 1 in our favour?
Re: Sheff Wed v Barnsley
Was in Skipton yesterday and saw 2 or 3 Burnley shirts. I'd say in my experience it's fairly evenly split. We do get a lot of support from that area.Claretmisterg wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 7:11 pmIn my experience Skipton does have a few clarets but mostly for Leeds due to Yorkshire loyalty.
