Have to find something to do on the X43.

I have to say we used the X43 when we arrived in the UK for a game and £2 each way was outstanding value

That’s £2 more than I have to pay but it was introduced at the start of the year for three months and then extended for a further three months. It’s certainly attracted more passengers.

Levens Hall

Same architect designed Colne Town Hall! Sir Alfred Waterhouse.

I was in possibly his most famous building the other week- Natural History Museum in London. Superb building with some beautiful detail as well as the general grandeur.
Around where I live- he's also responsible for a couple of buildings I get to gigs in: Reading Town Hall and a fine church (St Marys) in Twyford (the Hants one).
I believe he also designed some of Strangeways prison and his brother was the Waterhouse from the original Price-Waterhouse.

My daughter got married in Manchester Town Hall nearly 8 years ago, not very long before the refurbishment started. It’s a fabulous building, providing for some stunning photos inside.

When I went to the Trevi Fountain in Rome it was drained for cleaning.

Isn't the Waterhouse pub/ bar on the opposite side of the road? Lived there years and worked there too is that taken from Princess St. looking towards John Dalton St.? Should really know but a lot of time.has passed.

I was in the Duomo in Milan back in 2006 when we were in Italy for pre season. Embarrassing moment when I received a text on my old Nokia phone which played the Bullseye theme.

Only problem is holding one’s bladder on a bouncy bus ride home. I can catch trains to Manchester from Shrewsbury but for considerably more money than £2 each way.

Bus is better for me than the train given that it’s free and there being a bus stop three to four minutes walk away.

I have got just over two years to wait for my free bus pass. Being a ST holder in the Bob Lord I would have thought I qualified for one already!

If there is one thing we are blessed with here, it's great breweries! Although not a brewery, I'd recommend anyone a pint at "Cask" in Ancoats. Great selection of local beers, reasonable prices and nicely situated on the canal.

CT - a close relative of mine works for the council, formerly in Central Library. He was tasked with helping them sort through all of the documents stored before the refurbishment started. They were finding interesting things from decades ago even stored up in the clock tower. Anything of value or future importance was taken to be stored in the salt caves in Cheshire. https://www.theguardian.com/uk/gallery/ ... al-archive
