Schoolboy shot from Brook. Aussies have found the weakness for sure. We have no answer to the faster short stuff. Real test cricket

The weakness is not the short ball, it's the stupidity to keep going for it.

Duck and sway for 20 minutes and they'd soon stop.Give them encouragement and they'll carry on all series..

Bazball should be about picking when to go after them. That means knowing the shots with the highest probability of getting out and avoiding them. It isn’t just bowlers who tire with short balls, the batter tires going after them constantly too.

Watching this is like watching a football team want to pile men forward but they crazily shove both centre backs forward at the same time and lose the game.

With the pace of our bowlers they've enough time to pick the row, and seat number where they want to hit it..

Too many thrown their wickets away to awful shots
Pope Duckett Root Brook
Be lucky to win a Test Match against the best side in the world playing this way
It is ok against the mediocre sides but the Ashes is the most important series England have
If we lose the first three then the crowd will drop for the last 2 Tests as there will be nothing to play for

We're not crap , just brain dead . A proper coach / batting coach would of insisted to Brooks to not play until we're within at least 50 of them .

Of course we have an answer to the short ball stuff......the ball isn't going to hit the wickets so don't even try to hit it. Let it go past harmlessly for a few overs, their bowlers will soon get physically tired of banging the ball in for no result. It's called test match cricket.

Clearly we have been told to go after the short ball and clearly the Aussies have been too quick. 4 of our top batters out to awful shots playing to instructions ( which is the real problem). Bairstow out as I type !!!!

That just about puts to bed the theory that we were on top at the end of yesterday.
You can never be on top whilst you're almost a hundred and fifty behind, irrespective of the fact that you might only have lost 4 wickets.
4 can very rapidly become 6 and then we've a long tail

We weren’t on top but we’d worked ourselves into a good position to step up today. What’s happened is we’ve had an absolutely shocking first hour on day three.

Can we stop calling it Bazball it’s really cringe

I can’t help but feel that it has given some of them an excuse to fall back on when they stupidly chuck their wicket away as though we have the audacity to question the tactics.

You know has cricket when you see it - we’ve done stuff that is just fundamentally wrong and completely sabotaged ourself

The only problem being that having told the cricketing world that you are revolutionising the way that Test Cricket is being played the players now seem committed to BAZ ball. The players have been selected to play that way with greater risk in their game.

We have thrown wickets away in all three innings so far, especially in the 2nd at Lords and its cost us

I love the tactics and the idea, but it is just daft shot selection when confronted with a short ball, and that is down to individual batsmen to make the correct decisions about

This method by England has a bit of a feel of what it must have been like watching Newcastle under Keegan. Very exciting but coming up ultimately short against the best.

But it's not just the short ball, how many players have been out stumped through dancing down wicket..I can recall Bairstow, Moeen, Crawley and even Joe Root who was out stumped for the FIRST TIME ever in his first class career. I'm all in favour of agressive cricket but not to the extent of stupidity and recklessness, which is what we are showing at the moment.

In elite sport the teams with the best players usually come out on top. Ask yourself how many of this England team would get into the Aussies team. Joe Root aside I can't think of any. Having said all of that we've shot ourselves in the foot at every opportunity. 45/6 this morning. Not good enough.
