It's all about perception isn't, I'd rather think:
1. Bring in a young highly rated Man City youngster who has been out on loan and recent fans are raving about; to replace a goalkeeper who potentially may be out of favour with our manager and although was very good last season did have his off performance.
2. Replace a back-up goalkeeper who has never looked good enough to break into being a #1 with an equally or better replacement who comes highly rated and potentially will be cheaper on wages?
3. Retain a solid young keeper in Franchi as a 3rd backup and continue his development.
Makes a difference. I prefer to be optimistic and trust VK and his team.
I trust VK for sure, and it’s more concern than negativity, but to be honest a pretty valid concern going in to a new season with two completely new and highly inexperienced (at this level) goalkeepers.
Muric would of course be as inexperienced, but have one year in a European league, one in a higher league and know the team.
I’m not against the Trafford signing, I t’s an exciting one from potential perspective. Nor Vigeroux, arguably a step up signing a player with three recent fullish seasons over a keeper who hasn’t played competitively.
I just see them as being 2 (initially) and 3 over 1 and 2.
