Re: Match day prices
The only sort of ‘solution’ that I can realistically conceive is getting the women’s team to play at the Turf -free for kids or something.
Can still have the ridiculous pricing for the PL games but also allows families an affordable day/evening at the Turf, to feel some sort of connection with the club

Re: Match day prices
If you can get a season ticket it's an absolute no brainer, mine works out at £18.95 per game to watch Premier league football, they are very reasonably priced.
That fantastic championship season cost 13.92 per game

I get the sentiment but I don’t think the groundsman would ever allow that. Pitch would be torn up.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 4:45 amThe only sort of ‘solution’ that I can realistically conceive is getting the women’s team to play at the Turf -free for kids or something.

Re: Match day prices
I gave up my season ticket which I’ve had for years after we got relegated. Not because we got relegated but because I hardly got on any games because I was working most weekends, and it was a bit difficult to disappear from the family if I got a rare weekend off.
I’ve changed jobs recently so now have most weekends off. I’m on the waiting list with my son but I’m not hopeful of getting one anytime soon.
I can’t justify spending that much money on driving over to Burnley from Leeds and then paying for a ticket for me and my son, when we can go on a bike ride for free. It’s crap.
We need to increase capacity and reduce prices IMO

Yeah it’s a tough one - maybe anytime there’s an international break or double away fixtures or whateverNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 7:44 amI get the sentiment but I don’t think the groundsman would ever allow that. Pitch would be torn up.

Re: Match day prices
Screams "Milking Away Fans" does that.
Which wont be the case for us, assuming the 30 quid away ticket cap remains?

Re: Match day prices
There is simply no need for Burnley to charge those/these sort of prices.
2,000 walk ons a game all season, all as adults, brings in a measly (in comparison to other income streams)....£1.9m.
And that'll get spent in one round of transfer discussions, for 1 player, in a matter of hours - all whilst preventing future clarets and their families from experiencing the turf.
We aren't the only ones, but, we could of been the only ones and stand out from the crowd by charging a nominal fee (£5/£10) and making a real difference to the community around the club.
Ridiculous.

Re: Match day prices
Why would you charge £10 per head?
Could get every game for £190 when a season tickets costs at least 2.5x that.
Don’t disagree with your general point, but your starting point is £35 per game to make it worthwhile for season ticket holders. Otherwise we’d have none!

So walk ons should get cheaper tickets than season ticket holders?IAmAClaret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 7:04 pmThere is simply no need for Burnley to charge those/these sort of prices.

Re: Match day prices
just had a quick look on the home match tickets,as eye watering as the prices are,we have done remarkably well to shift so many tickets for matches so far in advance, can see most matches being sell outs as a few already are
Re: Match day prices
Weirdly I just bought some tickets for North Stand Upper (block 2) and although it said they were £50 when I was selecting the seats it then showed them at £37.50 when I put them in the basket (still for adult tickets) and bought them.
They do seem to be pretty expensive now but (together with the membership scheme) it does seem that they are pitching it about right given that virtually every match is already not far from being sold out. Finding two seats together was pretty challenging for a lot of the matches (other than the North Lower "standing" blocks).
