Forecast for Old Trafford (UK met office)

Wed - Mostly Dry, windy, could be isolated showers
Thurs - Dry, Overcast morning leading to a sunny afternoon
Fri - Dry, Overcast, Windy, possible a isolated shower.
Sat - Apocalyptic rain all day (my words not theirs)
Sun - Too far in advance but isolated showers and sunshine at current.

Let's hope we can make some inroads early doors, be very frustrating for it to all come down to the Sunday with the Aussies just playing out for a draw in between showers.

Hoping the forecast is on the money as I'm there the first 2 days. Should be another good do.

Saturday looks a write off so hopefully the pitch has plenty in it for the bowlers.

Looks like we need to win the toss and try and get a big score quickly looking at the weather as it doesn't look good for Saturday especially and Sunday could be on and off for showers.

If we win the toss we’ll bowl I reckon.

Give ourselves the most amount of time to get 20 wickets. And no Aussie spinner for the 4th innings to worry about.

We'll bowl first whoever wins the toss.

Weather fine down here in Stretford.

If only the ball would swing a bit, these 2 bowlers would look dangerous.

Yep Broad has started to get some swing.

Wood a few inches too short from what would have a been a super one handed catch on the boundary for Smith

To be honest they are trying to get Johnny into some sort of form and all it's doing is making him look worse , really feel for Foakes as he is better behind the stumps.

Just heard on the news that there's not going to be another Ashes series for 8 years.
Anyone know why?
The BBC as usual only gave half a story.

Ridiculous decision to not have any northern test matches.
The 2027 series will see two Tests in the Midlands, at Edgbaston and Trent Bridge, two in London, at Lord's and the Oval, and another in the south, as the Ageas Bowl hosts an Ashes Test for the first time in its short history.

Because they have chosen 5 grounds that don't include OT or Headingley.

It is poor planning. Lords, Oval and Edgbaston always get one, the other two should be played more around the country. People in some areas were probably muttering about OT and Headingley both having one this year.

As for your dig at the BBC, there is no story, they are just reporting a fact.

No northern tests in the 2027 Ashes - Lords, Oval, Edgbaston, Trent Bridge and Rose Bowl (Hampshire)

2031 before Ashes tests return to Old Trafford or Headingley.
