Good signing, especially on a free.
His talent is obvious, but all those games we played Saints, he always stood out as the one player who would always give 100%.
He'll fit in well.
Good luck Nathan, and welcome to the Clarets

To be honest,I thought he was 5 years older,he seems to have been around for centuriesClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 1:02 pmWould agree with you other than the unnecessary comment at the end.

To be honest, 29 or 34 I am actually shocked Everton were not in for him. Whilst he clearly suits a footballing team, he's also a bit of a workhorse and would be a likely Dyche target on a free in my opinion.

40 years old next year, which is 10 years longer than the distance travelled back in time....

This is an amazing signing for us and cannot wait to see Redmond in a Burnley shirt.
We’ve got an absolutely top quality player for free and he’s a perfect match for our system.
Kompany has pulled a rabbit out of the hat with this one.
Anybody who isn’t convinced about this: wait and see.

Re: ARTICLE: Redmond signs in for the Clarets after a year in Turkey
It's exciting checking out all the new players we've never heard of on YouTube, but it's reassuring to sign someone we've already seen produce in the Premier League for years. Right side of 30 too, it should be a good signing this.

Who's our next signing?
Maybe the Italian, Spanish, American, Canadian 18 year old?

Always liked Redmond. Surprised he is only 29 which is great for us Very good squad signing

That's a belting interview. Speaks really well and should put to bed much of the daft stuff I've seen on here about whether he's up to it or not.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 2:33 pmshort interview with him on Radio Lancs

The guy doing the interviews these days is very good. Just what the club needed.

Could be a very shrewd signing and a versatile right sided midfielder /winger type . He was excellent in the “ peak Southampton “ years .

How come - not that I'm complaining, I think NR's a great signing - we got him for free?
CT's article reported that Besiktas paid Southampton £4 million for him last summer; so did he only sign a one year contract with Besiktas, or was that a loan fee to Soton and his contract with them has now epired leaving him a free agent? Anybody know.

What a fantastic interview - could listen to him all day! Very impressive bloke and you can imagine what sort of effect having someone with his character and attitude who will have around the place.

Wow! I was a tad sort of neither impressed nor unimpressed when the mention of Redmond came up as a potential signing but I'll be honest after watching/listening to his interview I'm very much in the camp of " bloody brilliant signing". Comes across fantastically as a person first and foremost and I've no doubt he will inspire in the dressing room as much as on the pitch. Welcome Nathan

The sort of signing that represents minimal risk & possible maximum reward, when he's on his game he can be a handful there's no doubt about that.

I'm just glad he won't score against us this season! Seems like a top bloke and perfect fit for us, hopefully we will get the best out of him.

Cracking interview and what a genuinely lovely bloke. VK won't have any bad apples, hopefully WW will have changed.

Could be a very inspired signing here. Always looked good against us and I thought he had a few more England caps. Solid.

Excellent signing on a free. Great experience, good influence on the younger players yet still young enough to make a proper contribution on the pitch.

Re: ARTICLE: Redmond signs in for the Clarets after a year in Turkey
Just had a look through and he had two seasons in the Premier League at Norwich followed by six more at Southampton. In those eight seasons he made 264 PL appearance, 206 of them starts. Also scored 28 PL goals.
Just the sort of experience we needed I think - I would suspect only Jack Cork in our squad can beat that for PL appearances.

So that reveal video is now at 19.2 million, as a comparison Man Utds for their new keeper is less than half that !!!

I thought Redmond was class at Southampton and I am very pleased that he is now a claret.
