I do hope this is true. About Tella I mean.
Not so sure about Evans though. I can’t see the point in that.

TurfCast have said there's nothing in that one.dermotdermot wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 12:50 pmI do hope this is true. About Tella I mean.

I never get the feeling that vrancx is a possibility. If we signed all four I’d be delirious

Re the young lad we’ve just signed from Espanyol, I feel like I’m missing something.
Clubs just don’t let their top bright young talent leave for the (relative) pittance we’ve signed him for.
So what’s the thinking here, I presume he’s one for the future and won’t necessarily be with the first team? I’ve seen they’ve been relegated and i know that most Spanish clubs are struggling financially so presuming we’re having a pint cause they’re skint?

Would be brilliant to see Tella back. Fingers crossed this is legitimate.

£3 million is far from a pittance.BigGaz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 12:53 pmRe the young lad we’ve just signed from Espanyol, I feel like I’m missing something.

£3m for a lad with only a handful of appearances for Espanyol at first team level isn’t a pittance in my book. Exciting signing, look at the goal he scored against Almeria on the final day of the La Liga season, Benson-esque!

Indeed, but one snippet on there is that Turfcast (who aren’t linking to the sources on this thread) have said they’ve been told that there are two medical this week which are not Koleosho and Townsend.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 1:14 pmThere is (of course) now stuff on twitter using this thread as the "source"

No surprise there. I learn more about the Ukraine situation from you and other posters on here than from the BBC etc.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 1:14 pmThere is (of course) now stuff on twitter using this thread as the "source"

Very excited by the Koleosho signing. Think I thought he might initially be for the development squad but he was given the full announcement video treatment so clear one to compete for the first team.

Still not a reputable source unfortunately (nothing against TC, but its a site that repeats news about us and has has plenty of false alarms)jedi_master wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 1:16 pmIndeed, but one snippet on there is that Turfcast (who aren’t linking to the sources on this thread) have said they’ve been told that there are two medical this week which are not Koleosho and Townsend.

I wonder if using an announcement video for one player (Amdouni) that is clearly made for another player we want to sign (Tella) is one we we improve our bargaining power with clubs these days...
Another benefit of these viral announcement videos

I felt sorry for Muric when he got the Bart video. It was so obviously not made for him
Bart was another ‘titbit’ that I was given off the same source that ended up not coming to fruition yet I think the info was good at the time. I was also told (and posted) months before it was announced that we were to have a documentary released based on this same source

just catching up, I also think we need 2 midfield upgrades. Look at how we played last season, the amount of fouls we give away when teams counter on us means we will have to be able to bring on quality or we will be playing with 10 men every week because of VAR
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
But that's exactly what even City and Liverpool do.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 1:29 pmLook at how we played last season, the amount of fouls we give away when teams counter on us

Allow me to direct you to the part where I say Relative in paranthesis, ser.
Ghandi - well yeah, I understand that happens but there’s usually good reason for it, which is the thrust of the question. Im stabbing in the dark here but I assume they desperately need the money or he’s coming into the last year and doesn’t want to re-sign?

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Btw, I’ve been told by someone who works in and around the squad that a conversation has been had with one of VK’s former colleagues. The terms could be quite hazardous to a club of our size but I guess if we stay up and he gets back to previous levels then it’s paid for itself.
An appreciative enquiry led to said ex colleague flying in to have a meal with Vinny and the situation is described to be simmering away, nothing concrete as yet.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
It was leaked from City that they were told to stop breaks as far from their goal as possible to cut down on yellows. After hearing this I kept an eye on it and it looked plausible and it worked. It helps that they play so far up the field that any break can be stopped near, or before, the halfway line.

You know, I don’t care that he’s about 3 stone overweight and has barely kicked a football for three years. If Eden Hazard in a Burnley shirt was actually possible then please just inject it.BigGaz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 1:40 pmBtw, I’ve been told by someone who works in and around the squad that a conversation has been had with one of VK’s former colleagues. Yes, they and Liverpool do it quite often and seem to receive few bookings.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 1:40 pmIt was leaked from City that they were told to stop breaks as far from their goal as possible to cut down on yellows. Did they name the ex-colleague? We were linked with Hazard earlier this summer...BigGaz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 1:40 pmBtw, I’ve been told by someone who works in and around the squad that a conversation has been had with one of VK’s former colleagues. Why would Nathan Tella need to do a medical?

The recent update I heard was that Tella will happen later in the window if it happens. So I’d be very surprised if he was having a medical this week.

Also been told Tella (plus a central midfielder) close to being agreed. They did say not to expect either of them over the line this week but next.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
We'll know later today when Southampton play Bournemouth at 7.45pm r.e Tella - absolutely no chance he is involved for Southampton tonight if he is imminently having a medical with us. If he is not in the squad then we will know the score and can start to get excited....

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
In Spain also it is an obligation that a player has a minimum fee release clause in their contract, if they contract is from a couple of years ago before his appearances, then the amount paid could be the release clause which we met and Espanyol had no say in it.BigGaz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 12:53 pmRe the young lad we’ve just signed from Espanyol, I feel like I’m missing something.

Weird how all the fan sites are going with the Tella news, but not a scrap of anything from the mainstream journos.

Can only dream of Eden Hazard in a Burnley shirt. I'm not sure he'd be fit enough for VK though.BigGaz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 1:40 pmBtw, I’ve been told by someone who works in and around the squad that a conversation has been had with one of VK’s former colleagues.
