Maybe pessimistic bit looking at bottom six finish. Will be happy to stay up.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Honestly there is not much difference between 12-20 talent wise. We had some comfortable mid table finishes but I would put those down for grit/effort over talent. I think we will be in a relegation battle but am slightly optimistic of staying up. I think this is the year that the wheels fall off for Everton and they get relegated. They’ve been slowly circling the drain of relegation the last few years. SD will get canned in December, and they won’t recover.

Muric will have a rep in Turkey from his loan spell there but we’ve got to be looking for more than 8m. Though if you’d have asked me after the Blackpool home game I’d have bitten your hand off. Most improved player last year by a country mile and deserves the chance to start the season as number 1, even considering the fee for Trafford.
Young players always improve and Muric did that. Trafford will too, but from what I’ve seen so far he’s nowhere near Muric’ levels yet.
One good season in the Prem and his distribution will see us reviewing fees 4x €8m.

Possibly not but really difficult to know. In any case any club like ours should certainly be planning and mitigating accordingly by having appropriate contract clauses in the event of relegation.Darnhill Claret wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 2:56 pmDoes anyone seriously think we are going to be involved in a relegation scrap?

Could be correct or absolute nonsense !

€8 doesn’t seem to be a great fee for Muric. There will presumably be a decent sell on fee to Man City as well.
We’ve got to get used to selling players - ideally we sell at the optimum time to get maximum return and always have a replacement either in the building (as with Trafford) or lined up, who is as good, if not better.

That's what someone thinks which may or may not be the case. If we can, we should try to force the obligation applying only if we stay up.

Depends on the first few games ,can’t see us getting anything off City ,then the Luton game is off so we could easily be at the bottom of the table in September ,some on here will start panicking,& we’re then battling to catch up ,hope I’m wrong.Darnhill Claret wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 2:56 pmDoes anyone seriously think we are going to be involved in a relegation scrap?

If £8m is seen a low price for Muric, why is there no interest from English PL clubs whose scouts would have surely been watching us last seasonFeedTheArf wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 2:41 pmTurkish clubs always seem like the pawn shop of football clubs. Palace will sign a few top players this summer and their squad already has some real top talent (Eze and Doucoure are way to good for them. As is Olise but he looks to be off to Chelsea).
Everton won’t be anywhere near as bad as last year. 1 striker signing away from a top half finish IMO.
I see us avoiding relegation and finishing somewhere in the bottom half. The problem we have is the likes of Brentford, Brighton, West Ham, (the middle of the table) all look really strong

They should be far better organised but unless they recruit well, I can see them being in and around the bottom of the league.
A big issue for them, aside from money, is that despite what their fans seem to profess, it’s a toxic club. A bad start and I can see it being very difficult to recover from.

Dyche is getting some real talent coming back from loan.
They have brought in Danjuma and Young. Both I think very strong signings.
Then they have Kean, Branthwaite (very successful loan last year), Alli (none starter), Nkounkou and Gmambin.
I could see Dyche doing really well with them this season. Especially if they get a striker through the door.

depends how much they got for him, might allow them to bring 2 or 3 in. I do think they will struggle away from home but the Bramhall Lane crowd are usually superb and they make a difference - it's something we as fans need to be better at

Be some striker Everton sign who would transform them for a team near the bottom to a top half finish, there are probably 9 teams you can say are nailed on for the top half before a ball is kicked

Bid placed for a right back from galatasaraay

I think we will keep Twine until the Jan window then possibly loan him out too, depending on game time he enjoyed in the first half of season. The wages if nothing else need to be reduced

Bastien has apparently turned down a loan move to Kortrijk - surprised to be honest, he didn't really get game time in the Championship.
