I think we will keep Twine until the Jan window then possibly loan him out too, depending on game time he enjoyed in the first half of season. The wages if nothing else need to be reduced

Bastien has apparently turned down a loan move to Kortrijk - surprised to be honest, he didn't really get game time in the Championship.

Think it all depends on signing at least one other CM. If we do, Bastien won’t get a look in - injuries aside.

Just checked back. He started seven league games for us last season which included the first four. His only start after the Sheff U away game was against West Brom in January.

Yes, you only have to look at his limited game time last year at a lower level and then how many minutes he has played in this seasons pre-season (none?) to see where he is in the pecking order. VK has even played defenders in midfield before him this pre-season.

His dream might very well be to play in the PL but it won’t happen this season with us I don’t think.

It was from Sacha Tavolieri I think that said he'd been offered on loan to Kortrijk to get some first team football. I've no idea which players will struggle to get game time next season but you would imagine he's likely to be one of them.

I tend to agree with the consensus that the chances of him playing next year are slim but right now he is contracted to a premier league team and that is the best chance he has of fulfilling his dream (if what I think I read is correct ) so to that I say good on you, you never know you know !

Haven’t a clue if there is anything in it, but didn’t the rules changes this year for Prem clubs allowing them to sign up to 3 players a year who wouldn’t normally qualify for work permits, so we should be covered from that perspective.

It's not a full-on CM role, which is why I think it can work.
They don't need the ball playing skills of a proper midfielder, because they are essentially just an extra body who advances through the phases, but without anyone properly tracking them.
And their skill lies mainly in helping break down the opposition counter early, and keeping the pressure high.
I dont know if Beyer could do it.
But he certainly possesses the attributes to make it possible
