Bit surreal atm... Burnley sides have picked themselves since about 1958.
Its hard to think of a single player who's nailed on to start next Friday.
Beyer and Roberts look pretty sure to get the nod, beyond that I'd not bet the ranch on any one player.
Is that a good thing?

Taylor is so good he can play and warm the bench as well.

Poor game today and cannot work out Kompany's plan for the life in me. Players playing out of position a week before league kicks off is not ideal.
Some poor showings today. Muric has to start over Trafford Ameen Al Dakhil was poor but then again is not a right back. Cork looks way off it as does Foster. Certain starters for me are --- Muric , Beyer, Ekdal, Cullen ( if fit ) , Bruun Larson, Koleosho, Amdouni & Zaroury. Pick 2 more defenders & 1 MIdfield to finish off. Team looked very static today like were trying to hold teams off then break when needed. Vitinho didn't do too bad but also Roberts is not a left back. Charlie Taylor was awful.
We need a good ball playing centre mid very soon or it's going to be long season. Also a left back WHO is a LEFT BACK.
PS .... BFC Can I have my £5 back please.

Posted on the Mainz thread:
Muric
Roberts O’Shea Beyer Taylor
Cork
Redmond Brownhill Amdouni Zaroury
Rodriguez
Just play your best players in each position and then cover sensibly for injuries and new signings not yet here.
I just hope we get some genuine quality for starting 11 signed up before the Villa game in CM and at LB.

After today
Trafford
Roberts, O’Shea, Beyer, Taylor
Cork, JBG,
Koleoshi, Amdouni, Zaroury
Foster
Must admit I’m slightly worried what the score line might be looking at that team

Taylor is a left back but not in kompany's system, and because kompany has tried to make him a centre back he's actually now forgotten how to be a left back, almost like he's torn between the two, so consequently found wanting. Maatsen did well last season because he was or looked a level above championship, but he's forays forward would be cut short in the prem, and imo he's defensive qualities would be left exposed as well, just my opinion mind, where that leaves us, is simply that we need a left back.

Cullen/Cork
Twine
Amdouni
Rodriguez
Redmond
Would perhaps shift back 4 and midfield depending on new additions.

Assuming no Benson or Cullen
Muric
Roberts
Ekdal
Beyer
Vitinho
Cork
Brownhill
Andoumi
Zaroury
Redmond
Jay
Trafford
Al Dakhil
Taylor
JGB
Larson
Twine
Foster
koleosho
Dodgson
Although If Townsend signs I’d be tempted to stick him straight in in place of Redmond, and if it wasn’t City I’d play Dodgson

Missed O Shea
Apologies because I’ve been impressed with him.
Makes the bench ahead of Dodgson

Muric
Roberts
Al-Dakhil
Beyer
Taylor
Redmond
Cork
Brownhill
Zaroury
Amdouni
Rodriguez
It's anybody's guess at this stage - given who's available I'd play Taylor at LB but doubt VK will so we could see any one of Vitinho, Roberts, Dodgson or Al-Dakhil start there
O'Shea may well start at CB or possibly RB
Without Cullen, Cork is the obvious choice at CDM - however VK has experimented with Roberts there
Ideally we sign Lokonga - he's fit and can come straight in
Having a feeling VK will try something unconventional in an attempt to disrupt City

We do need front players that can not only adapt to the premier league but can score at this level /. We know Jay Rod has that ability ..although he is getting on a bit now .. I’m not sure how many goals Weghorst and Foster will get this season ..

Presuming Cullen is not fit mine would be:
Muric
Roberts Al Dakhil Beyer Taylor
Cork Brownhill
Twine
Redmond Foster Zaroury
I think in Amdouni and Jay could easily start instead of foster and twine I’ve just gone for the fact we are playing city and need players who can and will actively close down hard.
