Yep, it's all about opinions. Imagine if we all had the same ones. It does seem easy on here to upset someone with an opinion and that is just ludicrous. We all suppprt the same team but that's where the similarity ends really. Opinions on every single player abound and so they should. Have a good day and upcoming season.

All opinions.Hipper wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 7:49 amI saw Sheff Utd a few times on TV and four players stood out - Berge wasn't one of them. They were Ndiaye, Ahmedhodzic (who scored as many goals as Berge) Bogle and McAtee. I could perhaps add Jebbison but he didn't play enough to properly judge. Berge did seem to liven up near the end of the season.
I do agree though that it may be that United's style of play in The Championship didn't suit Berge.
All sensible ones are valid.
A good team is far more than individuals and we see different things. I loved Marney, David Jones and Cork. Others see very different players. Not the same as otheers.

I tend to view Wood and Weghorst as one so we will be a net beneficiary of that transfer financially, it cost us with relegation but we have now bounced back so no harm done.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 2:00 pmWe pocketed £25m from the sale of Wood - and I’d be surprised if we had any outstanding transfer payments to Leeds.
Of course we bought a cheaper version in terms of the transfer fee we paid and would have had a pretty large surplus on the Wood / Weghorst deal irrespective of how it was structured and we dealt with with getting the money in.
I’m just saying I do not think the Weghorst deal will have much of an impact on us financially - and I doubt very much from the way we are spending money it’s made things “difficult”.
Time now to ship out and move on, with no regrets.
Great news about Benny by the way, only natural our young players have their agents sniffing around trying to get them a pay rise, which, lets be honest, is well deserved.

Would be great for both clubs as I dont see him featuring much with us, and of course he scored against WBA with that free kick. Would hopefully give him much needed experience and hopefully we specify playing time or pull him back in the next window

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Why is Weghorst trending on Twitter (sorry, I mean X) for posting a goodbye video thanking the Man Utd fans for his time at OT? For starters he left them a few months ago so he's a little bit behind the curve and secondly he's a Burnley player about to sign for Hoffenheim on loan? It's becoming more and more apparent that Turf Moor isn't Wout's "happy place"!!

I don’t understand the obsession with people wanting Brownhill and Twine to leave. They are both firmly in VK’s plans and will have a big impact next season.

Every time I’ve watched him for WBA and QPR he has been one of the worst players on the pitch. The game seems to pass him by.

Can't see Twine leaving - featured heavily in pre-season and has looked fairly decent from what I've seen.

You seem to have got the wrong end of the stick here, I was just curious as to how you got your opinion and wanted to discuss it. I'm another that doesn't see Twine leaving, he's done well in pre-season and unless there is someone we don't know about is our only player that is remotely threatening from a free kick - which we will get plenty of in the PL

I’d be beyond delighted if Benson puts pen to paper for a few extra years.
Him, along with Beyer, are the two that I think will make a seamless transition to Premier League football.

He won't be in the starting 11 often though if we sign all our targets so how many free kicks will he be on the pitch available for?Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 3:12 pmI'm another that doesn't see Twine leaving, he's done well in pre-season and unless there is someone we don't know about is our only player that is remotely threatening from a free kick - which we will get plenty of in the PL

Wolves, SheffU and Luton it is then. Even a season of struggle may end up with us retaining our place in the top flight.

Decent player is Sam Field. Not sure he's Premier league ready but certainly has potential.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I got the same sort of surprise the other day when someone mentioned Warnock at Huddersfield.
Last I’d heard he was off home to Sharon and wouldn’t be coming back out until March 2024.
Completely missed the news that he’d stayed on.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Can't see him starting if we get all our targets, a championship loan for a season may be best for both parties.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 3:42 pmI've no idea if he will start, also don't forget 9 on the bench and 5 subs this season plus longer games.
Games are still 90 minutes I get what your trying to say but cant see rightly added time making a difference to substitutions
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Yes, very much a number 6 type. Would be a good addition as cover for Cullen in the first instance and to provide an option to play two genuine defensive midfielders in certain games. Seen prices around the £5m mark mentioned which shouldn't hurt too much.claretspice wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 3:52 pmDecent player is Sam Field. Andy Jones reporting Townsend deal isn’t happening.
‘Free agent Andros Townsend, though, will not be signing for Burnley. After a contract was offered earlier in the window, and despite proving his fitness and impressing, it was decided that with the number of wingers at the club — and with Burnley still in the market for more — playing opportunities would be more readily available elsewhere.’
Also that the Ramsey deal is expected to go through.

Not unhappy with Townsend not joining. He seems a decent guy with ample skills, but its quite simple-the more he played , then the less time some of our new young wingers would. I think Andros has been very mature, worked out his time was limited and has decided to move on. I wish him luck.Still has plenty to offer to maybe a side like WBA for exampleRVclaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 4:48 pmAndy Jones reporting Townsend deal isn’t happening.

Maybe the performances of Koleosho surprised us and resulted in an honest conversation with Andros that his game time would be limited.

Leeds, Fulham and West Ham interested in THB who is presumably expected to leave city now, after they have signed gvardoil today. 15 million is supposedly the asking price but they are also open to loaning him out
