Please explain "lacking identity" I don't know what you mean
It means that Man City looked a more experienced PL side than we did. Which obviously worries, and perhaps surprises, the OP. ;)

When you have brought in so many new faces in one summer it will take time for them all to gel together
The squad that finished last season was never going to be good enough this year
Ageing players such as Barnes, Cork, JBG and Jay will hold the side back if picked - Barnes even moved on
The likes of Eagan-Riley, Bastien and Churlinov will not feature and Brownhill, Twine and Vitinho don't seem to have a particular role nailed down
If I have one concern it is that the recent recruitment seems to be based on potential profit to be made from a lot of these new signings, rather than covering every position with two players
Eight wide men means at least four are not going to get game time so the idea of making a profit on them is nullified
No left back, given Taylor is being frozen out
Two centre midfield with maybe Villa guy to come in
One No 9 in Foster who ended up playing wide left against City
If identity is the right wording, then it will only come when we get the true balance of the squad right
Still time to do that
