Well done, fantastic! So glad I was 'working' from home today. It was a total coincidence, honest

It's amazing how upset some of these snowflakes get when women are a bit uppity in their eyes.pushpinpussy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 4:05 pmId rather watch the grass grow and paint dry than watch this tripe. Better standard of football at mens non league level im afraid.
As I've said before, it's telling how it's only the threads about women's sports get people going on there eager to announce how bad it is in their eyes.
No-one feels the need to go on the Padiham v Bury thread to point out how bad the standard is or go on the Ashes thread and say how boring cricket is.

Re: England v Australia WWC
My view (no need to insult me) is not some misogynist rant but because it really is awful. After painfully watching a game of 'elite' women players it became very clear that it is really of a poor standard. Ive watched men’s U17s play at regional level and I'll be brutally honest- those teens are an order of magnitude better.

Sometimes though, it’s a better world when you just let people enjoy things. Eg an English football team getting to the World Cup final.
I don’t see why every single thread about the women’s team needs comments about the standard. Nothing wrong with just saying well done.

Also, the comparisons to men’s teams and saying something thing like ‘Bury FC would beat them’ are unnecessary as well. I don’t remember ever, in any of the thousands of BFC match day threads being posted on here, someone feeing the need to say ‘Barcelona would easily beat Burnley’

I am not going to come down to your level and insult someone because you do not like thier view. However, you are so insignificant to me that I don’t even take offence at your insult.Venkys4eva wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 5:53 pmIts not anger, its just the only word that describes you perfectly.

Yeah, I enjoyed it too. 3 great goals and 1 sublime pass. My only minor point - The goalies as ever are the weak link. There’s a reason most good men’s goalies are 6 ft whatever IMHO. But smaller goals will never fly so we are where we are.Hbclaret007 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 1:03 pmVery enjoyable. No diving, play acting or the blatant cheating you see in every mens game.

Noticed that myself. There's been a few goals this tournament where the keeper has done everything correctly but just lacked sufficient height to get to the shot.box_of_frogs wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 6:07 pmYeah, I enjoyed it too. 3 great goals and 1 sublime pass. Several women’s teams including national teams have played under 18 lads sides and been beaten by 6,7 or 8 nil.ClaretDiver wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 4:24 pmDon’t watch it then you miserable sod….oh, and all these people saying that non-league men would beat them, I would love to see that…these girls would wipe the floor with them….
But the standard of women’s football is getting better. I tried to watch a couple of league games and turned them off.
But this tournament I think has seen a big improvement. Plus it was entertaining.
Converted to at least international women’s football.

But you just made a comparisonMondsley wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 4:44 pmI don't understand why people continue to compare Women's football with Men's. It is a biological fact that men are, in general, fitter, faster and stronger than women. So to compare the two is disingenuous. Accept Women's football for what it is. A far more edifying spectacle than Gareth Boregate's dross. And if you don't like it, don't watch!

Perhaps if you don't appreciate Womens football (or womens sport in general) don't make Mysoginistic comments then ...pushpinpussy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 5:58 pmI am not going to come down to your level and insult someone because you do not like thier view. You really are a complete and utter fool at times ... your input to this thread almost ranks along side your claims to be on holiday in Spain during lockdown and were pulled up by Claret Tony on your IP address proving you were no where near Spain but at home ...
You accuse me and others of bullying you ... yet here you are inviting it ...

Indeed they do! I was channeling Anne Elk from a Monty Python sketch. But you'd have to be ancient to remember that.

He didn't deserve your politeness that was a magnificent achievement by a team well prepared to win the World Cup....maybe our mens team and Southgate could actually learn something from the woman.

Re: England v Australia WWC
Living in Australia its been brilliant to watch and experience. Ok the football may not be to EPL standard but the vast majority of games have been excellent entertainment. However, watching England lat night reminded me of Burnley's hame against City.
City took the sting out of Burnleys efforts to gain possession by constant passing to each other along the back line and England were the same last night, it was effective and slowed the game down but bloody boring and time wasting.

At was at time with the tactics of slow play, especially in set pieces the England employed.
Dont get me wrong, England were the better team. They also capitalised on Australia’s three defensive mistakes.
Some of the earlier games, especially with the African teams were great to watch for the neutral spectator.

That manager has something. We do also seem to have a number of good players.
