Re: Super Ash
Right decision for him to leave, but I bet Kompany and the squad miss him being around. If we're lacking anything this year its certainly not ability, but if you're in a scrap he's the type of character you need about the place. Delighted he's doing well down there.

I am pleased he is already a fave.
We will miss him this season. So many young players. They learn from Barnes.

Re: Super Ash
Good game - 500th appearance, 100the goal, a very neat assist.
Best Ashley moment was when Millwall's Mitchell chose to have a tussle with him. Barnes didn't do much wrong but Mitchell tried to push him off the pitch and possibly into some cameras. Barnes kept his cool, waltzed around the cameras and then off screen. Meanwhile Barnes's teammate Rowe decided to confront Mitchell resulting in both being booked.
I thought Gibson looked very sloppy for Norwich with many easy passes and headers misplaced.

Re: Super Ash
If I was VK/Pace I'd have offered Barnesy a 1 year deal. Minimal playing time but an experienced head and a character in the dressing room.
However I'm delighted to see him doing well and the Norwich fans taking to him like they are doing. The man deserves to play and a good season in the Championship will probably prolong his career at this level for a couple of years.
Wish him nothing but the very best, and will continue to look out for Norwich's results this season.

Re: Super Ash
There is little doubt that Ash loved us as much as we love him. At the Promotion parade it was a close to crying as i've been in 30 years. The man is a legend. Throwing Kaminski into the net was a great moment, and highlighted what he is about. Top draw warrior. Good luck Barney.

He just wanted to play. Can't blame him, it's a short enough career anyway.ArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 10:09 amIf I was VK/Pace I'd have offered Barnesy a 1 year deal. Minimal playing time but an experienced head and a character in the dressing room.

Re: Super Ash
Whatever happened to the YouTube video about him? I’m sure the one I watched was billed as “part one”.
