I have enormous respect for you Tsar, and I have family who are police.TsarBomba wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 3:29 pmI just don’t buy that these morons left the house that day thinking ‘right, today lads, we’re going to brick the Aston Villa first team coach’.
One of them has picked up a brick and decided that the next coach that comes along is getting it, and another has filmed it for a laugh.
The next coach appears, and bang, it happens to be the Villa team coach. They may see the ‘Aston Villa First Team’ sign in the front window, but by this point it’s irrelevant.
However, I think you possibly miss one point here, and that is that the supporter coaches would have been long gone before the player coach passed the Barracks at J 10.
So: either they waited for it, or they simply (as you suggest) picked on a a random coach passing.
I doubt that they waited and watched all the fan coaches passing through and then waited another hour or so for the players coach.
Also,if this on the slip road at J 10, then so far as I'm aware the supporters coaches don't use it. (It's always been junction 12, unless they've changed it).
Re: Villa team bus bricked
Disgraceful, at least it was only 2 idiots, if it had of been this many people attacking the bus the authorities would have banned Burnley, parliament would be recalled and the perpetrators imprisoned, however as it's good old laugh a minute, pillars of the community, salt of the earth Scousers it's almost excused.
If the idiots are brought to justice I hope it is treated as a normal crime and not football related plus a custodial sentence if appropriate is administered as a deterrent.

Folk devils and moral panics. We have never been media darlings (apart from last year) and all Burnley fans misdeeds are highlighted as a folk devil example.
We need these clowns identifying and prosecuting
They probably have never been on the Turf and just tried and succeded in their notoriety quest

Yet still no photos of the damage to the coach which is quite bizzare ? and the story seems to have totally died in the media . While it’s clear a dirty scrote lobbed an object at the villa coach and presumably hit it ? The hysteria from other fans towards Burnley seems a touch knee jerk .
Hopefully the scrote (s) are caught and given jail time ,as the consequences don’t even bare thinking about if the driver has had to swerve .

Re: Villa team bus bricked
The supporters coaches were stuck in a traffic jam at the top of Ormerod Road, heading towards the Fire Station, half an hour after the game. (No idea why they were going that way.) I wouldn't be surprised if the team coach was on the M65 before they were.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 6:01 pmI have enormous respect for you Tsar, and I have family who are police.

Re: Villa team bus bricked
Interesting, but still most likely that they then turned right and followed the long established route via junction 12.
They usually go up Brunshaw Road, down Queens Park Rd and are given priority by the police to turn right onto Q Victoria Rd, then on down Eastern Ave to J 12.
Re: Villa team bus bricked
They weren't getting police priority. They were crawling along with the rest of the traffic. (I was just behind them, but then went down Queen's Park Road which was relatively clear.)nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 10:40 amInteresting, but still most likely that they then turned right and followed the long established route via junction 12.

Re: Villa team bus bricked
I know someone on Clare Street which isn't far from where this incident is supposed to have happened, and they are being targeted recently by some d1ckheads throwing stones at their windows and an attempted burglary ,police have been informed and I wouldn't be suprised if it's the same crew responsible.
I say 'supposed' because the police seem to be saying something was dropped from a bridge whereas I have seen a vid where something was thrown from a subway underpass.
It's unfortunate that Burnley fans are being tarnished with this when (I think anyway) it's just d1ckheads.

Re: Villa team bus bricked
from my dashcam footage I can see no broken glass or any bricks on the road where it happened, and I passed about 20 seconds behind the coach on the roundabout. There is what appears to be a plastic drink bottle on the road though.
Shouldn't have happened either way and I hope they find those that did it.

Despicable incident
But not as initially reported ie. thrown from above on a footbridge and not sure that hit would cause the significant damage to the front window as reported...it certainly sounded far more serious than this footage seems to show

The silence on this after the initial reporting hysteria is deafening . Did the video get posted and that’s what triggered it? Was it a villa team member /driver /security ?
Was it fans walking by ? villa fans ? And the lack of a photo of the damage is oddly absent . Surely the reportee would have photoed that asap ? Vile ,scummy and potentially tragic but alas no hard facts .

Just shown a video that’s been released on Granada reports and it’s definitely not as first reported.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 6:09 pmThe silence on this after the initial reporting hysteria is deafening . This has just been in Granada reports and the video footage they showed was from the coach in question, and you can clearly see their are a bunch of kids just near the subway that goes under the old roundabout, and one of them tries a bottle of pop that bounces if the coach. Not a brick not a bridge and not organised waiting and targeting as reported. Still out of order but not what was being made out

That’s definitely a glass bottle as you can hear the sound of it bouncing off the railings after hitting the coach then it bouncing along the road surface
Re: Villa team bus bricked
The vid I saw was filmed by the dhead on the left, he's holding his phone up filming his dhead mates.tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 8:52 pmToo many on my blocked list to see if this has been posted but here's the coach footage

Sorry to bring this back up but I just wanted to mention the Police were in attendance in the area of the incident, last night after the game.
Making sure no repeat offences.

Re: Villa team bus bricked
So not a brick as initially stated, but a gas cannister is just as bad I suppose - 14 year olds
. £10,000 worth of damage, seems a lot, but still shouldn't have happened.

A friend of mine once broke a pub window in Rishton during a daft fight and they valued the glass at £13,000.
Taught him a serious lesson!

He also got 6 months on tag so I think it saved him some money in the long run as he was only around 19-20 at the time and couldn't go out drinking or on holiday

Re: Villa team bus bricked
Is there any suggestion these kids are Burnley fans, or if so that they were at the match?
As said at the time, idiotic behaviour and I hope whatever is in place for kids who commit this kind of crime is fully carried out, but it's still no clearer that this has any links to the football club in the way that things that happen at Turf Moor do.

Unfortunately it’ll matter very little to anybody outside the area, even if they weren’t Burnley fans.daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 5:24 pmIs there any suggestion these kids are Burnley fans, or if so that they were at the match?

Just like 99% of supporters wouldn’t have taken part in the race riots in 2001, yet the whole fan base is labelled as such by some

I think given that they were 14 and the incident occurred 2 miles away from Turf Moor, that this is likely not football fan hooliganism, just absolute idiots from area surrounding Jnc 10.
Bet this doesn't make national news as it doesn't suit many outside of Burnley's agenda.

Re: Villa team bus bricked
Fortunately their well aimed gas cannister deflected the brick that the national media stated was thrown at the bus from a bridge, not quite NASA deflecting an asteroid but pretty impressive.

We used to brick taxis and buses when we was kids, don’t realise how dangerous and stupid it is till you grow up.
