Stewart Lee for me, but then I am clever enough to appreciate him...
Impossible to list all the others i enjoy or have enjoyed but many of those mentioned upthread i would concur with. Such a shame we hardly see any of them on the telly any more, it's always the painfully unfunny panel show mob spreading their woke progressive 'Tory bstards' routine.
I've seen Doddy twice, the last time not that many years ago at King George's Blackburn. He let us go about half midnight. We'd been there since 7.30 i think. I took my parents who thought they'd be back home by 10 but loved every minute of it. Same act for 50 odd years but the master.
I also saw Manning twice, neither particularly by choice,
once at a corporate 'sportsman's dinner' at Old Trafford cricket ground when i was not long out of uni. I have to say that i thought he was hilarious and better in that forum than on the telly, and so did everyone else (in the almost entirely white male crowd....) but this was the late 90s, a different era!
