It doesn't need to be a supporters club WhatsApp group.... There are other groups that allow you to use points if not being used by somebody
It's for things like this that the darkweb was developed

Interestingly, a friend of mine who is a Burnley season ticket holder but lives in a postcode that is much closer to Salford's ground than ours, had a right rigmarole trying to buy tickets on Monday, having to start confirming his address online and more. Whether that was because of this I don't know but he had a valid Clarets Number and orders away tickets regularly.

I thought about trying to buy in the home end seeing as they never sell out but saw the restricted sale message.

League games anyone can buy but any cup game with a high profile they always do this, was the same last round with Leeds.

A fair few people I know are in the home end.
Going by the capacity and crowd then they didn’t sell all the home tickets against Leeds so there’s a possibility for some Clarets to get in there.
It can’t be that easy though cos Leeds are f@cling massive so they’d have took them all

I registered an account just after the draw with a postcode miles away from both towns, just in case needed. Thankfully I got a ticket in our end. I can easily get through to the card payment page now with that account.
Sad to see there are a lot of spare seats in the South and North Stands.

The tickets are e-tickets anyway so in theory you could probably put a random Manchester postcode in and you’ll be fine.

I don 't think they are all e-tickets.
If they are, I've been done! I've paid £1 for postage. How do you post an e-ticket?

Mine came through email, don’t remember seeing an option to have a physical ticket sent.

Yes, but it doesn't cost £1 to post send an e-mail.
Are Salford doing it differently from Newcastle, because I received a printed ticket for that game through the post?

None of my 3 have, sometimes they come together or separate but none so far. They might post them out Saturday/Monday for Tuesday morning delivery

Thanks for the updates. The postal service to suburban Brierfield has been sporadic at best of late. I'll start panicking on Monday.

Just rung the ticket office. There has been a delay but they assured me all tickets were being posted out today and tomorrow so hopefully some will start arriving tomorrow. Asked for my tickets by e-mail in case of problems but they advised they had no facility to e-mail them.

Mine have all arrived today, looks like the delay has been because they needed to order some larger envelopes.
