There's another guy (I think he's called Jack Cork) who sounds similarNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 2:43 pmNot a midfield enforcer, but he should tighten things up.
He’s got experience and isn’t afraid to get a tackle in. Positionally he should definitely help us out.

The positional discipline we’ve seen from the likes of Berge and Amdouni in midfield has been woeful.
JBG is so astute tactically

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley MATCH THREAD
There's a nasty cold about. It started for me before the Brentford game. I spent the afternoon asleep and missed going to GTech (nearest Premier League game). My son messaged me early today - it's his turn to have the fever. I'm still coughing, so both our tickets and advance rail tickets going unused. At least I'm well enough to pay attention this weekend.
Come on you Clarets!

Today we find out what our chances of survival are. Bournemouth are clearly in the same mini league as us so today is a genuine 6 pointer. A draw would not be a disaster but a defeat would

That said, this chopping and changing of the side every week is a real worry for me.

Need a battling performance and no dumbarse mistakes in defence.

He is similar, i wouldn’t have complained if Cork started ahead of JBG.
However I can see VKs reasoning with this one. He wants that added steel in midfield and the tactical flexibility that JBG brings.
It’s a positive move for me.

I don't think a suspension for accumulation of bookings carries across competitions, so he'd miss the Palace game if he gets booked today.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 2:42 pmThat’s actually a great point.
Might throw a tenner on it

This is the key thing - yes we have been awful, but so have three other teams. We could stay up this season with a record low points amount because of this. It's almost required that we take three points in games against those three sides, as we did against Luton.

It does, one of Foster's missed games for his red was Salford.CaramelClaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 2:52 pmI don't think a suspension for accumulation of bookings carries across competitions, so he'd miss the Palace game if he gets booked today.

Ah - I see what you're saying now - accumulation of bookings as opposed to a straight red? Perhaps,I don't know.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 2:53 pmIt does, one of Foster's missed games for his red was Salford.

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley MATCH THREAD
It looks a better team selection than last week but Foster will be a big miss. I think I'd have played Berge as opposed to Kolosheo with JBG and Zaroury on the wings.
Glad to see JBG back but not sure where he is going to play especially when you have Berge and Cork on the bench.
As I say, it feels better than last week but still it's odd when you have PL experienced players on the bench like Cork and Rodriguez who could perhaps do a job away from home to steady the ship and keep us in the game till the latter stages.
I hope we win for the sake of the season but also because this board will meltdown if we get battered again.....
UTC come on lads....

Yeah, straight reds go across comps, but accumulation is limited to just Prem games.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 2:54 pmAh - I see what you're saying now - accumulation of bookings as opposed to a straight red? Perhaps,I don't know.

Are we running a competition on how many minutes Gudmonson will last...before either being tactically subbed or getting injured. I'll go for 90 minutes....I like a long shot.

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley MATCH THREAD
Team is far too lightweight for me and yes, VK is being dogged by injuries, but he's got stronger and more experienced (if rather less dynamic/young) players on the bench there who would, I feel, make a difference in Cork, Redmond, Brun Larson and Muric.

This game really is wide open.
Anything could happen.
I still think we look vulnerable at the back, as everyone knows.

Poor keeping again. Could easily have caught that and saved us the corner, then all over the place when the corner came in.
