Yes, went the other week. Massive improvement on the old place. The normal seating is like the VIP seats at Manchester Rd

Stopped going to the old one years ago as it became a dilapidated dump. If they put as much care into the maintenance and cleaning of the new one as they did at the old one it isn’t going to last long. When it was owned by apollo it was alright but when reel took it over it went downhill very quickly. Seems like they didn’t give a damn.

Has the Burger King moved with it? Strange one that, it had only just opened.

Can I ask when did you last visit the Reel Cinema on Manchester Road?
They revamped all the cinemas a few years ago and they were very good.
As for cleaning, if scrubbers didn't throw / leave all there popcorn and food all over the place then it wouldn't be as messy.

Haven’t been in yet, but the car park looks ridiculously small.

Agree. For a 7 screen cinema, Nando’s and Icaro Lounge, along with those parking there to go into town itself, 120 spaces doesn’t seem anywhere near enough

Was about to say the same, it was decent in there, slight damp smell but decent enough and comfy

The whole area around the cinema was gridlocked after the Palace game, it took, 35 minutes to get from the multi storey car park to the viaduct.

That wasn't my experience there RB, I went to see John Wick 3 last year and it was excellent...

Car park is a bit of an issue.
If you go before 5pm then you either have to pay at the machine or there is an APP to get free parking, but we found the APP difficult to use and so just paid the £2.
(If you go to the early viewing it's only £3.49 each, so the £2 parking fee is a minor annoyance)
We might give the APP another go next time.
There's no issue parking at midday, but I would imagine it could be problematic later on.
Cinema seating is an upgrade, but my preference would have been for them to upgrade the cinemas on the other site which is much more accessible by car and there was loads of free parking.
As someone else has mentioned, it's a bit of a bottleneck round there now.

The whole building on Manchester Road is boarded up now - being converted to a Lidl.

That's correct, Ive a friend that's going to be working on it, not sure when the work will start though.
I quite like Lidl, prefer it to Aldi.
I generally go there during the week for bits with 1 shop in Tesco on a Friday for the bits I cant get.

Old cinema is being demolished to build a new Lidl together with a brand new 4 way traffic light junction on Manchester road where the current entrance is and includes an entrance/ exit to the station so more roadworks to look forward to as the people of Burnley can’t get enough of them apparently

There's loads of buses into town. Burnley's a very small town so if you live locally the bus is the easiest way to avoid this problem.

Alternatively, you could walk or cycle in if you want to keep fit and healthy at the same time.

First sentence is not true. We haven't had bus into town for about 6 years, and if I walk 20 minutes to nearest bus stop there's only one per hour, and I'd most likely have to get a taxi home if it were an evening showing.

I keep relatively fit and healthy, but wouldn't fancy walking home (about 3 miles) late at night in what could be inclement weather. Many people would actually feel uncomfortable walking through Burnley centre after dark.
I'm not saying that your point doesn't have some validity, but your points would apply equally to the former site, since the old cinema was nearer the bus station (and Manchester Rd Station is nearby too.) In fact there's a bus stop directly outside the former site.

Is the pub on the site still open - can't remember the name, Brewer's Fayre type place?

Yep. The Star
That won't be closing as there's a lot of transient folk use it prior to or after their train journeys

I've only been in The Star once, and once is enough. Also, someone had done a dirty protest in the toilets.

No but that's why one of the reasons the roads are clogged up.
