Pretty rancid. Allowed lots of sneaky little trips prior to our second. Foul count was creeping towards double figures before he carded one of them. First elbow looked a red. Second elbow looked a red. Nothing booking for O'Shea which was a shite decision from a nothing challenge. Especially given the context of his leniency for some of their antics. He's missed a penalty first half for a blatant shirt pull. Wanted to ref from centre spot. More snide **** from them second half went unpunished. Complete dogshit referee.

Seemed to remember what pocket he’d put his cards in after 20 minutes. Looked like he’d turned up for a Saturday afternoon stroll.

Could have been two or three yellows before he got going couldn't there, but then he did well.

Should have clamped down earlier on the pub teams antics and Bernie should have had a straight red, apart from that did well.

Can’t score as watching SSN
Mike Dean said neither was a red card but said the referee was correct with 2 yellows
In tonight’s game Forest player Felipe should have had a second yellow but Tierney bottled it .

There was a pull down on one of our players in the first few minutes as we attacked. A clear yellow but he let it go- that was the minute he lost control.
I amazingly managed some phone reception and placed a bet on the cards

How he’s getting scores above 15 is concerning, did I watch a different game? The guys decision making at times was nothing short of awful. Their No 8 in the first half near the centre circle where he took our lad out, yellow all day long gives nothing. The first of McBurnies was a straight red, he gives yellow, I could go on. Inept sums him up.He needs demoting. No wonder VK got booked.

Surprising how we all view a refs performance, I thought on the whole he was poor.

Seemed to be allowing Sheffield United to reduce the game to a scrap to try to upset our game. But eventually penalised them.

It really looked like he was going to lose control in the first half.

Rank bad. Players manipulate refs like this with ease.

Not sure there was anything bizarre about that except the ludicrous decision of Beyer's to boot the ball high into the Bob Lord when the whistle had evidently gone. Mandatory yellow.

As others have said, far too lenient when we could all see they had gone and were trying to kick us off the park. Lost all control over the first McBurnie foul which led to O Shea and Kompany getting booked, and the former hooked late on. Missed the penalty for Amdouni which had it been given VAR wouldn’t have overturned. Also missed a yellow when Koleosho was dragged back cynically.
Not our worst ref, but not the best, and it isn't a high bar.

It was an odd thing to do. I initially thought he was kicking it well out to allow us to get another ball from the longside side as the game had been pulled back for a freekick there.

He was average at best and particularly poor is terms of his control and authority.
It looked like he'd lost control for a minute or two between the first McBurnie booking and his subsequent sending off but the truth is he'd lost his authority a few minutes before when he permitted a 3 minute drink and tactics break.
It was ostensibly an injury to the Sheff Utd right back but in reality it was a coaching break and a tactical change to try and deal with Koleosho's pace. In order to receive their unofficial coaching "time out" all Sheff Utd had to do was order the player they wanted to substitute to sit down with his hand in the air.
When referee's allow this kind of nonsense the players realise that they can influence the ref. He lost control from that point onward for several minutes. It resulted, tangentially, in the game turning in our favour, but it was poor refereeing.
He regained (nominal) control after the sending off of McBurnie but he had little choice in that decision, especially given he'd fudged the first decision when a red card would have been proper. It wasn't an exercise in authority - it was Sheffield United effectively giving up.
In the end, he avoided proper scrutiny because we gave them a thumping but I'd be concerned to have this referee in a close game.

Weak as they come. The first McBurnie booking was bizarre; its either violent conduct and a red card or nothing. As it was he was giving nothing for about a minute until someone obviously whispered in his ear and he had to fudge it. Clearly hadn't seen it himself. The seven is a straight red as well. Frustrating when you think Zaroury got 3 games for a mistimed tackle.

A strange one this - Thought he had a dreadful first 20 minutes, then was very good thereafter. How Hamer avoided a booking only he can explain.
