How many of those actually exist though?

It’d be interesting to run through all prem teams and list a player in each of that kind of ilk. There’s not many about, I don’t think (not disagreeing with your point).
City have Rodri and Haaland
Everton have a team full of them
Crystal have several
Utd have Casimero, and the CH whose out injured at the moment
Brentford have Ben Mee
Newcastle have Joelinton
Sheff U have several
Liverpool have Macallister and Van Dijk
Villa have McGinnis
West Ham have Souceck
Luton have a few
Wolves have Kouyate
Spurs have a few .
Not saying they’re all brilliant ,but they all know how to put a foot in,on Saturday J Rod got clattered twice in the first 5 mins,we don’t seem to have anyone who can do that.

Was there some rumour that we might try and get Arturo Vidal at one point due to Kompany having some link with him

Wouldn’t associate many of those as a Joey Barton type. Mee yes, Tarks yes (who both chose to leave us by the way), maybe Casemiro at a push. Certainly not Rodri or Haaland. Nor Van Dijk. They’re just very gifted, strong players.

Also well beyond our reach financially too.

How many goals and assists has Koleosho got? He's been very impressive but I still believe Zaroury should have started and Koleosho used as an impact sub then through good cameos be giving he spot.
Brownhill was fit and on the bench regardless if VK changed it now he was dropped to start, same with Taylor.
Benson was on the bench first game.
Vitinho has had 1 or 2 decent games but he doesn't offer much going forward and is worse at defending he's a very poor full back at this level.
Still repeating this nonsense I see.

Benson was not fit to start, he missed all of preseason. He started the 2nd game of the season and went off injured, probably shouldn’t have started.

Brownhills brother told everyone Josh was carrying a niggle at the start of the season, but here you are disregarding fact.

Roberts has been first choice all season, he’s been awful got a stupid red card and been replaced by Vitinho who has performed slightly better. How is that tossed aside? Roberts was given ample opportunity.

Taylor was never first choice left back here under VK to be “tossed aside”

Cork started less and less games as last season went on, if you want to say he was tossed aside then you’d have been right last season…

Not necessarily the Barton type ,but Rodri ,Haaland, and VVD are as hard as nails, not saying we would ever be in a position to buy them just that there are still some pretty meaty guys knocking about in most teams .
