Are the players still with Kompany?
I really hope they are, if we can start to get some real performances in eventually, it will make a huge difference moving forward.
BUT
I really felt like Brownhill had lost his mojo on Saturday, could that be possible? Could other players be losing faith?
I still desperately want this idea to succeed, I really like Kompany, I love Alan P and the players that we have signed look potentially very exciting. But if the players lose faith, the whole thing is over.
Fingers Crossed.

Re: Are the players still with Kompany?
We used to have a fantastic youth policy which fed players from childhood straight into the first team.
Home grown talent coming through brought commitment, passion and a never say die attitude to the club and shirt.
Alas no more.

Its only a few weeks since we beat sheff utd 5 0 and drew away at Brighton, so yes.burnley007 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 3:45 pmI really hope they are, if we can start to get some real performances in eventually, it will make a huge difference moving forward.

Can't see any reason why they wouldn't be.

Re: Are the players still with Kompany?
when you consider how getting smashed every week effects you as a supporter it must be even harder for the players, confidence must be very low. I don't see players not trying, they gave everything at Brighton, I just think we are seeing players that as a collective aren't good enough at the moment. Brownhill, Roberts, Cork, Jay have all been relegated with us before and the rest (other than Redmond) are very young. Not sure why people expected this season to be much more than it turned out to be

Re: Are the players still with Kompany?
Can you define "losing his mojo" and provide specific examples of this from the game? Maybe you could also indicate why these examples were Brownhill "losing his mojo" rather than having a poor game?burnley007 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 3:45 pmI really hope they are, if we can start to get some real performances in eventually, it will make a huge difference moving forward.

They could eventually get tired of being set up badly week after week......

They must be getting fed up with him persevering with Trafford.
You can practice all the details in the world, but if all it takes is to just hang a cross up to the back post for us to concede, then it must be very deflating.

Brownhill seems to spend a lot of time looking at the dugout ,don’t know if he’s lost confidence ,might be that the dead ball guy is permanently in his ear .burnley007 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 3:45 pmI really hope they are, if we can start to get some real performances in eventually, it will make a huge difference moving forward.

Re: Are the players still with Kompany?
The players will either accept they are not good enough to play the way VK wants them to play or believe they are better than the system is making them look. It must be hard buying into the manager’s methods when the home record is Won 1 Lost the rest in the worst gone start eve ever had. It just isn’t working.

Of course but we could do with a recall for McNally to help bolster our defence.

Re: Are the players still with Kompany?
Whether they are with him or not you would have liked to think regardless whilst they are still getting money paid into their bank accounts they'd be at least listening to him & trying to follow his training methods instructed, although it's difficult to present a convincing case that they are or he simply isn't teaching them the right way, watching what goes on can tell you a few things & in response to the 2nd goal going in on Saturday retreating into the dugout & playing about on silly iPads with CB trying to work out what's going wrong I don't think is the right way.

Re: Are the players still with Kompany?
The players are putting in the effort and have put in decent performances recently.
They are young professionals learning their trade and will know, having listened to their experienced and intelligent manager, that this season is not the be all and end all of their careers.
They will be aware that their rawness and experience has been exposed time and time again yet will continue to go again and again in an effort to improve individually and collectively.

Re: Are the players still with Kompany?
Impossible to say but they won't be for long if we don't start winning games. When the manager is saying "keep doing x and the results will come" and it doesn't happen the players will inevitably lose a bit of faith.

Tresor was laughing and joking with some Everton player at the end of the match so he looks happy enough to me.

Re: Are the players still with Kompany?
Harder for the players? Really? I've witnessed similar 'lows' like the one we are having now many times over too many seasons to mention. Never once have I considered that the players are 'feeling it' more than the supporters. Ask any supporter who was around in May 1987.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 4:25 pmwhen you consider how getting smashed every week effects you as a supporter it must be even harder for the players, confidence must be very low.

Re: Are the players still with Kompany?
I was there from 83 onwards. If you look at the issues Lyle has been having and then you just dismiss how the other players are effected by things says an awful lotSilkyskills1 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 7:47 pmHarder for the players? Aye, and you could get a fish and chip supper on the way home from match and still have change from sixpence. It Is What It Is wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 3:58 pmWe used to have a fantastic youth policy which fed players from childhood straight into the first team.

Re: Are the players still with Kompany?
They’re certainly with him at present as are most fans , though like any club there will be squabbles and perhaps 1 or 2 frustrated players like Roberts?? Zaroury ? . Though let’s be realistic if this disaster continues to Jan , I feel almost sick typing out our home record 1-8 , players will get very restless .
It’s not over yet , we have 5 “ possible “ starters back for Fulham so hope springs eternal

I think they are, that said so many are not playing who possibly thought they might be there could be some mumblings behind the smiles.
