Second half huddle

Post by longsidetrumpet » Sat Feb 03, 2024 8:06 pm

Watched the game on TV and the camera homed in on our huddle before the second half kick-off. Surprised to see it was Foster doing all the talking, Brownhill next to him doing the listening. Good to see Lyle laying it in the line

Lyle is going to be very important going forward ... We haven't had a motivator so far this season and Lyle stepped up today.

Great to see Lyle doing this (it might just help him overcome his recovery too 👍🙂👍) he also ran his heart out for the Claret cause today 🙂

Surprised me as well to see it was Foster who was leading it but its nice that some leaders may be starting to emerge because they are desperately needed.

Maybe we finally have a skipper then in Lyle. Let’s hope so.

I noticed Foster going round before the game talking to everyone.

Didn’t have him down as a talker before today, but maybe he realises he needs to lead this young side a bit more.

Esteve was doing a fair bit of directing after he came on, I was impressed with him all round.

Actually dont agree with this. Im sure a lot was said in the dressing room but this was finally a show of some players beginning to take responsibility and lead. Its too late for sure but i took it as a good sign. We then went on to win the second half 2 0.

This is what I would call a daft comment. Quite easy to spot.

Hopefully a good sign of health improvement if Lyle has the confidence to be so expressive. Ran his socks off today. Passes didn’t come off for him, probably his weak attribute, but he shows so much energy and desire.

Yep, the more i think about it the more I think this was a really important game for some of them. They really had to dig deep and fight for that result, they took it on second half rather than sinking. We could have done what Sheff Utd seem very good at doing and collapsed but we didnt.

Also looking at some of the player celebrations they really do still seem invested, they arent downing tools (not including Tresor in this)

Hope the boos at the end of the first half fired them up. They have had too many polite claps off the pitch this season when they have not deserved it. They got a kick up the backside from the fans and the performance improved.

Don’t get this. Been wanting to see more of this all season and it’s been distinctly lacking. Looked like Foster who was getting things going too.

He passed the ball down the line for one of the goals.

If you read the managers article after the game it certainly was all said, and more, in the dressing room at halftime and the players took it upon themselves to have that huddle, not something we normally do so there must have been a reason for it
